Not certain what the import prices are going to be (mostly from shipping). That'll come later.
My personal favorite battle theme from B/W: The Legendary Pokemon Battle Theme! |

This along with the B/W2 news of late has reminded me that I never finished EV training everything I wanted to in my white version. Not to mention...
I still havent beaten the Elite 4 the second time around...or at least I dont think. EDIT: It's funny how i'm actually looking forward to seeing the story continued more than anything. |

I could go on and on about it, but nothing tops some of the battle themes from BW. Nothing that we've heard so far, anyway. N Final Battle Plasma Grunt Gym Leader Last Pokemon Battle - In a pinch! Event Battle Elite Four Battle I've also got a soft spot for this one and this one, even though they aren't battle themes. So much great stuff in BW it would be impossible to list it all without putting up the entire soundtrack.

The Abyssal Ruins theme is Hitomi Sato's best composition yet. So well-developed and arranged, and it's a new Diving theme for once!
HG/SS rearrange of the Champion Lance theme is inferior—I'd agree on that. My favorite Champion theme is still FR/LG's handsomely over-the-top arrangement of Champion Blue's theme. |

Cliche and RPG are two terms that I think explain why so many people love Kageyama's stuff. Since they look over the inherent intricacies and great self-conscious development of Ichinose's music in the series, Kageyama provides a more traditional approach that's typical, "epic", and out-of-place at times due to the modern atmosphere of most Pokemon games. But he's pretty damn good, all that said.

Hold up!
It's quite honestly the best one in my opinion lol. Hate using the word, but it's simply epic, especially how it comes out of nowhere with the logo zooming onto the screen. Marvellous. Actually Black and White is probably my favourite soundtrack. I honestly love HGSS', particularly for all the Kanto remixes, but BW's was so refreshing for me personally. The gym battle theme is my favourite one out of all of them, the subway battle theme is also probably my favourite battle theme too. And N's Farewell...really beautiful, especially the one found on BW's released soundtrack at the end. And let's not forget this masterpiece! Looking forward to hearing music from BW2!

the best thing about HGSS is that they gave us an 8-bit version of the PokeMart theme.
oh and route 47. |

I was not so crazy about the music from Black & White, even if there were a few classics. The different battle music were dope though!
However this collection interests me more due to the inclusion of older soundtracks.

R/B's battle tunes are half-and-half for me. Gym Leader Battle and Champion Battle, sure, but I don't much to say about the rest. That album's got some surprisingly-long tunes for the dungeon area (Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon in particular), but it's just not as interesting as the others overall. I do like how it sounds better than G/S at times, though, simply because of the way Masuda utilized the sound capabilities of the GB to create deep-sounding chords and unique effects. It still has my second-favorite version of Route 11 (yet Go Ichinose upped the ante for FR/LG).

Bought just off the strength of the original B/W soundtrack alone. If I get more stuff like Team Plasma Battle, N Battle, Lacunosta Town (original and live instrument versions), Elite Four Battle and the like, I will be beyond pleased with this OST. :D
Goddamn did B&W have a kickass soundtrack. |

For those curious: this person's done a decent job of reconstructing (part of?) the B2/W2 rival theme from a Pokemon Smash stream. He's actually done more reconstructions, but none of these are bound to be final anyhow.
I think this track's by Sato, which is certainly new and exciting for her. |

Maybe, for the first time, they're going to be using upgraded audio samples for this album instead of the in-game samples, which would be different. This probably wouldn't have been possible with Kageyama on board, because he was definitely hired to do the music and improve their sound gear.

Really, I'm not looking forward to the release of the game to play it, I'm looking forward to the music. :p If Black/White was any indication, I will constantly be listening to B2/W2's music for a good, solid year or two. |

All of the in-game music I've heard so far feels a bit disappointing outside of one of the later route themes. The opening town theme sounds like Kageyama trying to mimic Ichinose poorly, and the battle themes feel lazy and are undeveloped as ever. Ichinose better not sit this one out.
