Ludicrous Game Titles
#1
Just read on EG that "Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R" (I'm not making this up) is to be released in Japan. What's the deal with the fucking horrible names over there? It's like they had three different names, couldn't decide, so just used them all. So, what are the most ludicrously named games you can think of?
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy - just, what? Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R - pick one name! My Little Sister Can't Possibly Be This Cute Portable Can't Possibly Continue - OK, this has to be some sort of competition we aren't aware of What say you GAF? |

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Final Fantasy Type O Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy/Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy SE doesn't know how to properly name games anymore. Also, I find it funny that JRPG localization has gotten extremely better over the years and yet the actual game titles got worse. I mean there's a game called "Tales of Graces F".

Kingdom Hearts Three Hundred and Fifty Eight Days Divided By Two still takes the cake imo. Bravely Default is pretty close though. At least the former makes sense even if it is dumb. I see absolutely no way to justify Bravely Default unless there's some kind of item called the "Default" or something.

Not really all that bothered about strange names. It makes it interesting compared to seeing the same name again but with a number next to it, or a generic title that explains the game in its title. Battlefield? Modern Warfare? Pff Give me cool names like Bayonetta, please.

People want to make a big deal about subtitles? Sounds dull. One must consider the nature of videogame titles before you go calling them ludicrous. That should be reserved for the really weird ones, not the "Championship Editions" of the world.
I don't know how Demon's Souls is much of a better title than Dragon's Dogma. The Demon's Souls or Demons' Souls sound better (Same deal with DD). Zero X ten C or Zero Times Ten C

Edit: Apparently the "C" will be superscripted? Goddammit, Notch. More edit: Okay, after some research, it turns out the game's story involves passengers sleeping for 0x 0001 0000 0000 0000 (result of a Big Endian/Little Endian mixup), which is 0x10 to the power of 12 (c) in hexadecimal. So technically, the pronounciation could be Zero X Ten To The C, or Zero X Ten To the Power of C, or Zero X One Zero To The Power of Twelve, or really any combination of this shit, since no one really knows how to pronounce numbers in alternate numerical bases. This is horrible.
