Woo Hoo. I just beat "Lion_Rafale_" 3 out of 5. I've played him before and he creamed me.
He's only a raider and is about #1000 on the scoreboards based on ranking, but he's #25 on the list in battle points with around 2500. One thing I don't get, how can someone have such high BP and not hold that high of a rank? I guess just have a really good winning % ? What actually determines your rank ? BP or just the number of matches you've won ? Oh, can someone add me to the OP ? PSN: LotusSapphire |

"One thing I don't get, how can someone have such high BP and not hold that high of a rank?"
So far as I know, you don't actually lose BP. BP is just there to make people feel like they're still making progress even if they're not winning much. You either gain 4 points for a win or 1-2 for a loss. "What actually determines your rank ? BP or just the number of matches you've won ?" Rank is determined by a "Danisen" style system. You gain progress to the next rank depending on winning and losing. However, if it's anything like it was in VF5 + the arcade versions and tekken, once you reach a certain rank (usually past the "Dans" and into the named ranks, Hunter, Raider, etc.) you can actually be demoted from your rank if you lose too much. How much you lose or gain progress to the next rank is determined by how close your opponent's rank is. |

General rule of thumb, if someone's score/matches is < 3, they probably aren't any good at ranked mode-style VF. (ranked VF and set play VF are two different animals entirely) Just ran into one of my nuisances a few minutes ago. Was working on Jeff, played some player matches, ran into a Jacky who kept doing variations of the same thing- wasn't spamming any particular move, but he wouldn't do anything that would allow me to play in a non-boring way. |

He also has passable Iori and Kyo looks. So far I like my Sean and Ryo outfits the best. |

DF, covered VF5 for those that wanted to know about each system. They also touch on the ghosting found in the game:

Any Wolf players? I'm still travelling so I haven't picked this up yet, but I will in about a week.
Any major changes you've noticed to his playstyle? Good/bad/neutral? I know he's probably not a "top tier" kinda guy, but I find him way too fun to use. Also you could put a bear on his head in VF4:Evo, I think. |

Biggest change for me is that he is much slower now and his moves takes longer to execute. I have to change my whole rhythm from 4 Evo. Also his 46K+G move is gone :(

I don't understand the convention. What is 46? I did know all of his moves in Evo and VF5, but I guess I never read about them. |

They shouldn't. [2]8K should be the easiest thing in the world. The only thing that's more inconvenient, in my opinion, is hcf/hcb and 41236/63214 but I've seen all of those enough to be used to them, I guess.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm all burnt out on VF for today. Thanks for the match, though; you're the first Lion Player I've come across, so it was a learning experience for me.

I can always get ranked matches on PS3 anytime so far. Player matches there are noticible dead times though. Only played a room match once since its not my thing.

Hmm, seems like I have a tenuous connection to Bronson. Sorry. =(
I'm in Montreal (and on wired), if that matters? Blargh, that runaway game... I have much to learn about fighting it.

I haven't seriously played on a stick for nearly a decade so maybe I need to switch back to pad, but the 360 controller is also busting my balls especially when it comes to Marvel. I am having problems getting the TFT command out which is weird since it is 4,6 which always comes out when I don't want it with the knee. Then there is also the fact that I am still fighting with 4 Evo muscle memory. I also fought Zero-chan, but lost also due to the same problem with the knee. I had her 2-0 but she bounced back rather well regardless. Shidosha also popped up on my ready list, but he didn't confirm the fight. Overall, the online experience has been great. I've only had 3 sessions of about 15 matches each. Had two rage quitters so far and the people with lag have been far in between. However, when you do fight someone with lag it is truly a bummer. I am pleasantly surprised to see quite a few people with 500 matches under their belt already. I am sure it helps that a VF match can be blazing fast. I don't think I even had that many ranked matches in Vanilla MvC3 before I picked up Ultimate. |

Yeah, http://www.twitch.tv/8wayrun
Currently, Teknopathic (MoodyShuffle) is cleaning up shop in the room. Room is open on ps3. I'd watch some more, but I have to go to bed. Really fun watching him put in work though. |
