Are there any first person WRPGs (Fallout, TES style) playable on Vita, 3DS, or DS?

Looking for a handheld western RPG type game. Basically I want to play something like Oblivion or whatever but all I really have the chance to play currently is my handhelds.
Would prefer something either playable on Vita (including PSP games playable on Vita), my 3DS, or my DSiXL (if it's a DS game) because I love physical buttons, but I also have a 4th gen ipod touch, if there is something good for iOS that I should look in to that isn't ipad only. I'm in the US if that makes a difference. |

Ravensword 2 looks like it could be what you want, depending on how much you can tolerate touch screens. Made from the guys who did Aralon and Ravensword 1, which are nothing to write home about, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose. And there's the ios WoW-clone MMO, Order & Chaos too I guess.
I would love to see a real spin-off of Skyrim or an ES game on Vita, but I think I have a better shot at just hoping Ravensword 2 turns out to be some great surprise, or someone ports another PC RPG to iOS, like Gothic 2 or something. |

...or just wait until Windows 8 comes out and buy a Windows 8 tablet, attach 360 controller to USB port, set tablet on triangle dock at coffee shop, mission accomplished... In all seriousness the tablets are still going to have a hard time running Skyrim, but they might run something like Arx Fatalis without flinching, things will open up sooner than later in terms of perf on the go... |

I have a light notebook but it just has integrated graphics. It'll run fallout 3 kind of for about 5 minutes before it starts to lock up. Haven't tried it with oblivion yet, who knows if it'll work. I was hoping for something on ds for sleep mode, so maybe I'll try orcs and elves. It's only three bucks at GameStop...

There are tweaks you can do to get Fallout 3 running on older hardware too, i believe. Like Here. |

Hopefully, the rumored acquisition of the streaming company by Sony (Gaikai or onLive) will mean full streaming for all PS3 games to the Vita. This is if Sony plays their cards smart. I doubt they will, or that the acquisition will provide that but.... one can only hope. If that happens - SKYRIM ON THE VITA! :D I understand it doesn't remedy it by offering it directly but you could always play it via a wifi hotspot. |

A good one on iOS is Undercroft. It's free and somewhat resembles the games you mentioned but with graphics more like Daggerfall. Not as expansive but has similar gameplay and is party-based and turn-based. Another good one is The Quest which has already had expansion packs.
The problem is that big western developers don't bother with handhelds. If they tried they could probably get something like Morriwind running on today's handhelds. It would at least be cool to see a spinoff of a big WRPG on the Vita or something. |

It's what I find kind of exasperating about how there seems to be more interest in the iOS than there ever was for the DS/PSP here. Then again maybe there were complications there I'm unaware of, certainly we didn't have the Unreal Engine running on either of those, whereas now we can have UE3 on the Vita.

I too am disappointed there isn't something filling this niche; I think it could gain a lot from being portable... like Animal Crossing but in a very different way. Explore different parts of a huge world, a few minutes at a time whenever available.
I was reading about various ES games on Wikipedia a few months back. Wasn't this supposed to be a heavily modified Oblivion, not proper at all? As in, made into a linear experience split into stages? |

As for some of the other iOS games people post, they're also crap. Why do people hate the OP enough to suggest them?

Remember when Oblivion was supposed to come to the PSP? Those were the days.
