I'm for this but not at the expense of ruining it for others. I love cheating in single player games because it gives me that extra replayability. But if this makes earning trophies meaningless and messes up online multiplayer for others then heck no. Banish this for good.

They can block it simply by locking save files so that they can't be transferred to USB devices.

Yeah, that'd be great. If you use Game Genie, it basically marks your game file saying you cheated, and disables trophies and won't allow you to play online with that save file.

this is nothing else than what trophy hackers been doing for years,get the savefile on pc,swap a few files with a 100% savefile,load up the swapped savefile,get all 50 trophies within 1 minute and have everything in the game unlocked

I remember Nintendo at least was actively working from the day those were released to break them over and over. Ver 1. Game Genies would stop working on games released after 199x and so on. I doubt much has changed in the intervening years to alter their stance on cheat code generators.

That's just one option that they'd have. Another would be to block that specific device. They've blocked some third party controllers in the past, so they may be able to block this through a firmware update.

There are already copy-locked saves out there, which is frustrating. You can back them up as cloud saves if you're on PS+, even though they're copy-locked locally.

You can already do this in a fashion with another program that I know about but won't link or mention since it's easy to find if you know the circles to look in.

That said: If this is more like a gameshark for PSX instead of a gameshark for X-box, we're in business.

Yup. I loved using Gameshark during the N64 days to play around with crazy shit in OOT (Black gauntlets! White tunic!), MM (Fierce Deity Mask anywhere!) and Mario 64 (trippy colors, big head Mario, timer in the top right corner).

Even last gen brought some fun with the Action Replay. Debug mode in SSBM was incredible.
