Can't wait for this. I quit pretty soon after launch but Trion has added a crapload of content and this expansion seems pretty massive. I resubbed a few days back and have been playing, really enjoying my time.
It's nice seeing someone have seem real success in the MMO genre. |

Hmm, does Rift have interesting setting, lore-wise? This stuff is kinda big deal for me in MMOs.
Also, what's Rift gameplay like? WoW, something else? Asking as i've understood Rift is... ok?, decent? MMO and i'm sort of interested. And, aren't expansions usually a good time to start playing MMOs? Of course it would be nice to have a computer that can actually run modern games... might have to work on that first before starting to think about MMOs. |

Gameplay is WoW-like but they have added a bunch of content/features such as the Alternative Advancement System and the Chronicles of Telara (dungeons designed for 1 - 2 people) Rift is decent, certainly one of the better WoW-style MMOs (the best WoW-style one imo) Expansions are a good time to start I'd say :) though there is tons and tons of content including a new area that was added in a patch a while ago so you would still have plenty to do before the expansion. Trion have done WONDERFULLY with adding patches and content updates worthy of a P2P MMO unlike some other companies and it's why even if I don't have the money to pay for it atm, I wouldn't mind going back to it when I do have the money :) You can also play up to level 10 (I think) for free or something like that as a trial but above that needs a subscription. |

But yeah, worth it imo. The environments are gorgeous, the rifts are fun (though they do get old but World Events when they are on make them less old :P ) and it has loads of content and a great class system. As I said, best WoW-style MMO imo. |

I enjoyed Rift (despite thinking the game looked dreadful and a bit bland at first), but I didn't have the time nor money to play it and they ended up nerfing AoE-soloing quite a lot (understandable as some classes were utterly broken in the beginning, but it was so much fun >.<). I'll check it out again when I get a new PC :)
It's also nice to see a mmo not named WoW being decently successful. And Trion does a pretty great job supporting it. |

I pretty much stopped playing a few months after launch, only got a few characters upto the low 20s before I lost interest. But I have kept an eye on RIFT every now and than, looks like this will be something worth resubbing to a month or two prior to the expansion.
