I was a little surprised when Eric was like "this is my sister". Was awkward till I learned that they were brother and sister due to both being made by Godric. Whew.

And Tara in beast mode, holy hell. Going straight for Sookie. I guess the blow to the head damaged her memory even though the wound was healed.

Going to be an interesting season.

Yea, this premiere felt really disjointed. Hopefully they can kill off/remove some characters and get back on track this season.

I don't know. I think that's what has let the show grow what were ostensibly secondary characters in the first or second seasons into pretty major players, at least in their own storylines, which I find interesting. It would be exceedingly boring if the show was nothing but Sookie and a bunch of Vampires doing Vampire politics, and I know people LOVE Vampire politics, but it always degenerates into vampires yelling over one another and staking each other (and in worst case scenarios floating into the air and going all Matrix on each other), so it's nice to have the B-stories with the other characters to give the show some flavor outside the whole "Ooooo, look at me, Mr. Vampire-Bad-Ass over here!"

Of course, I like how at this point Sookie is separated from the main Vampire storyline and so is Pam to an extent. It's a breathe of fresh air. I think the only character I'm sort of worried about going by the premiere is Hoyt. He can very quickly turn into an exceedingly annoying jerk fairly quickly going by his one seen. You were dumped dude. Get over it.

I didn't like it. I thought making Tara a vampire was a cheap (and obvious) cop out. I also felt the deus ex machina rescue by Eric's sister was really lazy. Having Bill and Eric be rescued by a character we've never met? Bleh. It was a lame excuse to introduce a new character. Even worse than that, all three of them get captured again a few scenes later. I just feel like the plotting on this show is so haphazard that it's become insulting. The Jason and Jessica storyline was the only one I enjoyed.

Yeah. This just screamed "Retcon" all over the place. I mean, wouldn't she have come up in the conversations between Godric and Eric if she were that important?
