I'm a huge Muse fan, and when I read dubstep I was ready to start hating.... but it actually sounds not bad. I'm sure the whole album wont be dubstep lol, but that small clip sounds interesting.
I didn't know there was so much Muse hate on gaf (not just for this clip, but for the band in general) |

Hell even Random1-8, B-sides from OOS/Showbiz, and the Newton Abbot Demo were better. |

Always been a Muse Fan.
All their albums have a very different direction, and they're not afraid to try things, and experiment. Can't wait to see where they go with the dub step part, even if that dub step sequence in the trailer was pretty awful (and I generally enjoy dub step). The orchestral part on the other hand ... stellar. Don't forget that it's just a trailer too, they always have been shitty at glimpses of their albums. |

Personally, I liked from Muse - Half of Showbiz, all of Origin, most of Absolution, half of Blackholes and could barely stand Resistance. I'm not terribly optimistic about this album. |

First of all, album trailer? Really?
Secondly, that was one of the funniest videos I've ever seen. I get that Muse doesn't do subtlety, but the sheer overblown bombastic weight of it made me audibly laugh, and that was before the dubstep even kicked in, which was just the icing on an already over-egged cake. |

I just hope this song has some songs that ROCK.
The Resistance didn't really have any. MK Ultra had some sick riffs, but they'd go on for like two bars and then stop. Unnatural Selection had some rocking sections, but no chorus. Overall, I liked The Resistance more than most. I loved Guiding Light and Undisclosed Desires (the latter mainly for the slap bass during the chorus), but I'm definitely in the minority there. Muse needs to go back to writing rock songs like Plug In Baby or Hysteria. |

Absolution is crap in comparison to Black Holes & Revelations.

WRONG
1. OoS 2. Absolution 3. BH&R 4. Showbiz 5. That-album-which-shall-not-be-named 1 can switch with 2; 3 can switch with 4, but the rest of the general form remains. It's my opinion, of course, but I'd say there is a logic to my rankings.

I love Muse so i'm willing to give this a try, but I can't help but feel that this album is just going to add on to their downward spiral.
The Resistance had a few good songs, but I thought it was merely okay otherwise. BH&R was decent but nothing like its predecessors. edit: BH&R did have City of Delusion, though! Dat trumpet solo.

So guys, about that new song... It seems that is going to be Survival, which has been choosed as the main song for the Olympic Games.
Here's a 20 second preview. Sounds terrible, but well, so did Resistance's (the song) preview... |

The song that is yet to premiere (soon) is also confirmed to be the official London 2012 song. You guys think I should throw together a new thread?
Also, it's Survival not Unsustainable. http://www.muselive.com/
