As of the end of the latest issue of Marvel's "Avengers Vs. X-Men," Earth's Mightiest Heroes find themselves with not one Phoenix-powered threat on their hands, but five. Dubbed the Phoenix Five, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor, Colossus and Magik have all taken control of a portion of the destructive force that has been making its way towards Earth for the past several months, thanks to Iron Man's plan to stop the Phoenix Force causing it to split instead. "The mutants are now the Earth's mightiest heroes, capable of doing all this cosmic-scale, epic (stuff). And the Avengers are scrambling to keep up and keep things in perspective," the issue's writer Matt Fraction told USA Today. "They're wildly evolving the world overnight. They're doing the work of a Phoenix, only instead of one there's five and each one has their own personality and thoughts, and things are great at first. But they're the X-Men. They're going to stop getting along at some point, and batten down the hatches." "There's a specific reason it resonates that it would be these five," Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso added. "It has to do with what our master plan for these characters has been for some time." As CBR readers know, this is merely one of several "game-changers" promised by Marvel to take place over the course of the AvX epic. Just last month, the publisher was teasing "No More Avengers" as of next month's "AvX" #6, and, as Tom Brevoort told USA Today, another event is set to occur at the end of Act 2 "that will clearly test both Avengers and X-Men alike as we get down to the nub of where this whole thing has been going all along."

I like the twist, but at the same time, the next few plot points are pretty predictable. They're all going to do crazy high level shit to the planet and whatnot, then something will happen and they'll turn on each other. And when multiple phoenix powered people start fighting each other, they'll start messing up the planet big time, then avengers are gonna have to intervene and help, somehow Hope will help. Only thing I don't know yet is how it will end, but I'm almost 99% sure that what I mentioned will happen next.

This will inevitably lead to all of the five throwing down sooner or later.
Namor will try and rebuild and glorify Atlantis which does not mesh with Scott's vision of mutant uprising.
Emma has been playing loyal #2 for a bit too long, I would love to see the Hellfire Club back to its old glory and not just a stupid D tier road bump.
Cyclops will get power crazy with good intentions as far as he is concerned and probably end up wiping out someone or something that he shouldn't.
Magik still has that darkchylde taint about her so it could be fun but the writers these days would never give any time of day to that.
Peter? Who knows. Maybe start trying to redo some good, but he also has the Juggernaut curse in him which could make things go very bad.

Nah Cyke is off his rocker. I mean he believe that the Phoenix Force is the key to jump starting mutant population. The same phoenix force who's track record for giving life is outweighed heavily by it's track record for completely OMGWTF ending life. I mean shit on it's way to Earth how many planets did it basically evaporate? How much life was on each planet?
