Can't wait to hear this album. Never listened to Day and Age, but this track is awesome. Doesn't have quite the cool breakdown that When You Were Young did, but I still like it. I kind of miss their old style from the first album, though.

Did anyone ever listen to the "spin-off" CDs the other band members made in their hiatus?

Ronnie (the drummer) had another band called Big Talk...I really dug listening to it. Didn't know he had such a good voice.

whoa, thanks for the link, really good stuff.. also, I dunno where all the Sam's Town hate is coming from! Can You Read My Mind? is one of the best Killers songs, ever.

the new single didn't do much for me (only listened once, trying not to burn out on it before release) but I'm still looking forward to Battle Born.

It's tied for my three favorite Killers songs (with the other two being Mr. Brightside and When You Were Young.)

Such an uplifting yet sad song.

They had a concert three days ago @ the Orange Peel. The set-list was:

The new songs were recorded!

Miss Atomic Bomb

Rising Tide

Flesh and Bones

Oh yesss! Quality is bad, but it's at least something.

The Killers - Inside Their Recording Studio

Quote:
The Killers welcome you into their Las Vegas recording studio, which is called Battle Born (as is their new album, out September 17). Look out for a famous face or two - including a tennis legend - as they give you a guided tour of their swanky HQ.

Nice setlist!
I waited about 9 hours during Firefly in Delaware this past saturday to see them in the front row.
They didn't disappoint.

Here are some photos I took

Runaways is really growing on me. I did like it at first, but I'm starting to like it more and more with each listen. Video isn't too shabby (US version of Things is still my favorite video from them, though). God I've missed Brandon Flowers.

This is sounding more and more along the lines of Sams Town - Hot Fuss being my favorite, while Day & Age heavily disappointed - which I've always thought of as more of a singles album where as Hot Fuss you can listen to as a whole.

But yeah, definitely looking forward to this one. Should be all kinds of awesome. Reckon the break will have done them good.

Hopefully this album has Hot Fuss levels of singles, both in terms of quality and in terms of quantity. Every single off that album was dope.

EDIT: love the video, BTW. I have a feeling this album is going to be a nice return to form.

The album didn't get there, but I will say that When Your Were Young is definitely one of my favorite singles from the past 20 years.

Sam's Town is definitely a special album for me. I actually just took it out of my drawer to take the dust out of it!

it could have been one of the best albums of the past 20 years if the second half was just as good as the first one.
Never tired to say that Read My Mind is my favorite song ever.

Bling (Confession Of A King) is the best Killers track for me followed by pretty closely by Smile Like You Mean It. Bling has that completely infectious, gut wrenching chorus with the dancing synth line I just have to return to. Have had Sam's Town back in the car for work travel listening and I just seem to play that track over and over again. That album sort of marks a place and time in my life(like anyone's favorite albums) so will always be pretty special.

Oh btw, really great OP - man well done!
