Fighting Games Weekly | June 11-17
#1
Events are in approximate order of start time. Note that events may be added/removed/updated as more information becomes available. If you have info on upcoming events for the week, or a stream you think should be featured, feel free to make a post or send a PM.
Last week's thread (June 4 - June 10) FGC Pros on TwitchTV - Easily found out who's streaming. JUNE 11 - JUNE 17 SPECIAL EVENTS June 11 Cross Counter Asia will be streaming their recorded broadcast for South East Asia Major 2012 featuring Daigo Umehara and Singapore's best. The results are always known, but if you want to see all the matches from Top 16, watch at Cross Counter Asia's TwitchTV channel. June 14 is the release day for the Street Fighter X Tekken patch to fix the Rolento Stinger glitch. This patch will be used at CEO 2012. June 15-17 is Community Effort Orlando 2012, more commonly known as CEO 2012, held in Orlando, Florida. CEO 2012 is the last of the Road to EVO 2012's Pit Stop events, offering a $1000 bonus for SSFIV AE and UMvC3 1st place and $500 for SCV 1st place. CEO 2012 will also be using Keit's Ultimate Payout System (UPS) Ver.2012 employed at UFGT8, meaning about a top 10% payout for each tournament. BlazBlue Continuum Shift EXTEND The King of Fighters XIII Mortal Kombat Skullgirls SoulCalibur V Street Fighter X Tekken Super Street Fighter II Turbo - TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS qualifier Super Street Fighter IV Arcaded Edition Ver.2012 Tekken 6 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 A slightly adjusted version of DIVEKICK (Dive builds slightly less meter, Kung Pao builds slightly more compared to the version available at UFGT8) will also be a CEO. Last year's was remarkable, with TOKIDO making a storm by winning the MvC3 and SSFIV AE tournaments. While TOKIDO is unable to attend this year's event, Daigo Umehara, Mago, Momochi, ChocoBlanka, GamerBee and Kayane are among the international players joining the event, so expect quite a show, especially in SSFIV AE. Most of the notable names who attended ECT4 will also be at CEO, so expect the same quality, if not higher. With 565 pre-registered entrants and emergency on-site registration still remaining, and a solid spread across the games (as of the second last day of pre-registration: SSFIV AE-250/UMvC3-193/SFXTK-130/KOF XIII-57/MK-43/SCV-48/SG-44/TK6-23/BBCSEX-24) CEO is guaranteed to be one of the largest events of the year. Team Sp00ky will again be streaming CEO. Saturday June 16 is Devil's PlayGround, a Vampire Savior singles tournament to be held at CLUB SEGA West in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Since April, there have been multiple qualifiers for the tournament, with the following players having qualified. Hisashi (Lei-Lei) Kosho (Bulleta) KEN (Gallon) DD (Sasquatch) Komemaru (Zabel) Nakanishi (Bishamon) On June 16 is the final qualifying tournament, with two slots to fill out the 8-player bracket as well as the finals tournament itself. The finals tournament uses GODSGARDEN-style rules: double elimination, best 2 out of the 3 games, with Grand Finals being 3 out of 5. Player names are pulled in a drawing, and in order nominate other players for matches (each player has one refusal). The tournament will be streamed by Sakamoto. The qualifier is scheduled to start at about 3PM JST (2AM EDT) while the finals tournament starts at 6PM JST (5AM EDT) so if you're a fan of Vampire, be sure to watch. June 16-19 is DreamHack Summer 2012 in Jönköping, Sweden. While there are multiple tournaments at the event, for games in the MOBA and FPS genres and of course for StarCraft II, June 16-17 is the DreamHack Energizer Fighting Championship, with tournaments for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (singles) and Street Fighter X Tekken (doubles). Both tournaments are capped at 64 players/teams, but the prize money is significant: 20,000 Swedish kronor (SEK, ~2800 USD) for the SFXTK tournament and 50,000 SEK (~7000 USD) for the SSFIV AE tournament. DreamHack will be streamed by ARMSHOUSE (who also provided coverage at the last DreamHack) and Fighting for Sweden, so the fighting games should have good coverage. June 17 at CLUB SEGA West in Shinjuku, Tokyo is P4U Unlimted Circus 5on5 in BATTLE ARENA. Persona4 The ULTIMATE in MAYONAKA ARENA is currently the hottest fighting game in arcades, so expect some good competition. One thing of note is that this tournament is actually sponsored by Arcadia Magazine, and will be streamed on Arcadia's Ustream channel. The tournament starts at 1PM JST (UTC +9, 12AM EDT). CALENDAR CEO 2012 (Road to EVO) - June 15-17 DreamHack Sumner 2012 (Sweden) - June 15-18 (Fighting games: June 16-17) Midwest Championships 2012 (Road to EVO) - June 22-24 Ultimate Clash XIII (UK) - July 1 EVO 2012 - July 6-8 | Register for EVO Tournament-only passes are the only ones available. registration closes on June 22. Moving this here...
Man, we get pretty off topic these days. I expect the first page to be full of Brazzers logos or some shit. People spend more time gossiping then they do playing games... unless their is a Mahvel or Street Fighter stream on lolz.

Apparently Razer won't send Latif to CEO because they don't think it's worth it.

I totally agree that low numbers are better, I find Aquasilks stream at about 300-700 people to be the perfect balance, and that stream never has slow mode. There is so much to be said on the topic of stream monsters, lots of good and lots of bad, but in the end I'm amazed people waste their 1 comment every 60 seconds to say the exact same sfxt as the last guy.

AE at CEO will be ridiculous!!
I really hope they sub the Daigo/Latif match with the classic Daigo vs Alex Valle. FT30 Ryu mirror let's go !! Also, this Big 2 will be amazing and a really good appetizer to what is to come in Marvel at CEO. East coast should totally get in on that Fanatiq tech and sandbag the hell out of this one then conquer and destroy at ceo. |

I'm so excited for CEO with Daigo finally making his return but at the same time what chances do you guys think he has?
His performance has been pretty disappointing lately when you look at the Japanese tournaments he has attended and even at the South East Asia Major tournament he came in second losing to Xian (who I don't remember doing much of anything worth mentioning at Canada Cup). I know he's still got it since he beat Sako in a FT50 and Poongko in a FT10 but I dunno, I'm not very confident he'll do well.

Sorry it took so long to get the thread moved (I sent a PM to multiple mods, only to find out hours later that you can send PMs to only one person at a time), but we're back home.
Anyway I asked Sakamoto, one of the guys behind the Devil's PlayGround tournament, if there will be a stream for it, and indeed there is. Sakamoto himself will be streaming it here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sakamotosan It starts early Saturday morning US time, around 2AM EDT, but if you're a fan of Vampire you should definitely watch. |

I also find all the negativity about stream monsters pretty funny. I've seen several streams on Nico Nico and it's a stream WWW and random Japanese characters. I wonder how different they are from Western stream monsters lol.
