I think I have that around somewhere, if not IŽll download it again. In the mean time, I took some pics of the Street Fighter IV benchmark. Too bad it wonŽt let you choose graphic detail for the backgrounds, it is either off or high. Character models remind me of the 3DS version.

Lots of people posting 1280x1024 screens instead of 1024x768. Perhaps the 4:3 requirement should be changed to 1280 so that a uniformity is reached.

It's a mode where you render at HALF the res you set then upscales but the adds the HUD.

Looks like shit and make the game almost unplayable.

Clearly only visible in motion; but a lot of stuff pops in when you're only a few feet away from them.

This thread is weird, because the worse a game looks like in screens probably means a better job was done porting it, by making it more scalable and optimising for a wider spectrum of machines.

It'd be nice if you guys can post both the highest and lowest settings of the same image for comparison purposes.

A while back I went into the console of Half life 2 and dropped every setting as far as it could go.

It looked like what I would imagine Half Life 2 would look like on the DS. I even rendered it out to a Youtube video at DS resolution.

Quote:
Source engine forced into 265x192 resolution (Same as DS)

r_WaterDrawReflection 0
r_WaterDrawRefraction 0
r_shadows 0
r_lod 5
mat_picmip 3
mat_dxlevel 60
mat_fullbright 1
mat_diffuse 5
mat_bumpmap 0
mat_forceaniso 0
mat_reducefillrate 0
mat_mipmaptextures 0
mat_filtertextures 0
mat_bloom 0
mat_envmapsize 32
mat_envmapgasize 8

Here is a .GIF of every 30th frame of the video:

I don't think that I will ever betray New Vegas, Borderlans, Far Cry, Max Payne and Half-Life 2 to play them in such conditions. Is too much for me, they don't deserve to played like that, but I would love to see some STALKER series in this thread :) since I don't have them anymore because I played them few weeks back. I know how strange the series can look at low settings, especially Call Of Pripyat.

Actually, it is very revealing how the game was made and how the lighting technology works. If someone were to take screenshots at all the various detail levels you could see how all of the visuals composite together to form the high detail end product.

Looks like it would make a fine PSP game if they baked lighting into the verts.

Just FYI, Serious Sam 3 does the same thing as Modern Warfare 3, providing an option to have a different rendering resolution than display resolution. Go into customization for performance options and make sure that the appropriate option is set to "max" or something so that you at least get native resolution.

On most current netbooks you wouldn't have to go that far.

When I did it, I didn't use any mods at all. Just lowest settings and shadows forced off through the console.

That NAME sounds familiar, my crappy laptop had like 1GHz, 1GB RAM I think? Shared memory with a GeForce Go of some sort perhaps.

If I'm taking low settings screenshots, the device I'm doing it on typically won't run higher than that. I suspect this is the case for a lot of these shots.

EDIT: Wow, Witcher looks like Morrowind with a high-res pack!

EDIT 2: And once again, people, good-looking games looking like shit on their lowest settings is always a good thing if it makes them be able to run on ultra-low specs.
