I don't have a clue what was happening in this movie, is it me being slow, or is the plot just a bit ridiculous. Did none of the events in the last 4 movies actually happen. Indeed, it's not like they took some brilliant piece of literature or something and turned it into this series. Resident Evil was already pretty horrid in the writing department and if it weren't for the success of these movies I doubt the series would have lasted as long as it did or taken the turn that it did and created even more success for Capcom...


Although, I'd love to see George Romero's script be turned into a film at some point. Even if it was just a one off deal. Before he dies at least, that man ain't getting any younger

To be fair to the movies? How is that any excuse for a bad script? Its quite clear this is an adaptation of the games and not a translation so they have total freedom in making it not suck.

Best is when people complain about the characters being wrong in the movies, yet they are so absent from the games. So much inconsistency in them and most are just so wooden with very little dialogue. Such a large collection of personality lacking characters in the games.

Milla still looks hot! Last RE movie I saw was the one with clones at the begining and Milla having super powers. It was really a bad movie, I couldn't even take it as brainless action film, it was just plain awful. This look like it could be enjoyable action flick but I really don't think I will give another RE movie a shot.

Going off of the trailer, I get the impression that this movie is have one of those stories where everything takes place in a way that doesn't actually progress the plot of the series at all.

E.g. Alice captured at the end of the last movie, put into VR at the start of the next movie by umbrella, does a load of shit while in there, gets out of VR by end of movie, movie ends lol, back to where 4 left off.

Yes, and if that's the case then nothing in the previous movies really happened and they have retconned it all.

I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoyed Afterlife even though I hated Extinction so I'm looking forward to it. Is that really Leon? Because he looks awful and not sexy at all (EDIT: He is! UGH). Ada seems... shorter than I envisioned her but to be fair, I was expecting her to look her like a supermodel so that wasn't going to happen.

The movie seems to take place directly after the last one so I'm wondering how are they going to deal with Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter being absent from the fight...

Most of the cast have talked about their characters enough to ruin what this is essentially about.

Li Bingbing as Ada Wong A survivor who is taken captive by Jill as she hunts down Alice. Despite their romance in the video game, Li says that Ada and Leon Kennedy's relationship will be "subtle" in the film. Li got the role only a few days after her first audition, and prepared for the role by watching Resident Evil: Degeneration.

What a great way to prepare to be Ada Wong! By watching a movie that she doesn't fucking appear in ;_;

And for those wondering about the "returning" characters like Rain and Shade from the original movie:

Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo A pair of clones of Rain Ocampo from the original film. The Umbrella Corporation has cloned Rain, creating a "Good Rain" and a "Bad Rain". "Bad Rain" will be hunting down Alice, under Jill's orders. For many years, Anderson has been trying to get Rodriguez back in the Resident Evil films. He says that he that he wanted "to kind of give her an opportunity to play something different."

Colin Salmon as James "One" Shade A pair of clones of James Shade, who died in the original film. After his death, his DNA was cloned by Umbrella, creating a "Good James" and a "Bad James".

For those who might have missed it, Jill appears after the credits in Afterlife pretty much cementing the fact this is a direct sequel
