I think Extinction is the only decent one so far. There are moments in it when it actually feels like actors are actually trying to act, and moments when people actually treat each other like people. It's not a great movie by any stretch, but I felt that it had by far the best cinematography and acting. Which isn't saying much I realize.
It's a fuckton better than Apocalypse and Afterlife IMO. |

All I remember about the RE movies is that anything and everything was thrown up on the screen and some heavy metal music mixed in. Hit frappe and pay 12 bucks so Mila Gogovich can eat another day.

meh when Carlos is about to make his sacrifice I felt like people were acting and there was some actual humanity. It wasn't much, but I was kinda taken off-guard by it. The rest of the movies have been enjoyable crap, but Extinction is the only one I wouldn't call a massive pile of crap.
and by god it had a Tyrant fight and Alice exploring a dark Umbrella lab at the end. IMO it felt closest to home when it comes to comparing the movies to the games. Afterlife was just really bizarre, it's like the weirdest movie I've ever seen. |

I liked Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood, but I'm not sure his style will translate. Still, Day One. |

Quote:
yes, I'm aware that RE had talking Tyrants since Code Veronica, and tentacles isn't anything new to the series; but it looked ridiculously stupid in the movie

They're retconning it cause the planet just being wiped out wouldn't really work for sequels.
