Wow, this thread is deader than dead :( (though I guess it's because of 4th of July, eh?)
It was ok, again. I laughed at Jurassic Tank and the first deflation, but that's about it. On the other hand, pacing was abhorrent. At least next week it's Zapp time, hopefully that can get it back on track. |

Whole episode was bit silly. There were funny bits but overall it was just meh. I actually watched the episode hour or two ago and don't remeber a thing about it :D Maybe I just have bad case of explosive amnesia or the episode was just meh.

It didn't seem completely resolved but is Calculon officially dead now? He did take the real poison. It would be cool if the next episode dealt with this and maybe have Bender trying to bring Calculon back to "life". Maybe get the Robot Devil involved somehow? Or maybe they'll ignore Calculon's death and not even bother touching on it (or maybe he's really perma-dead?).

That was actually a classic-worthy episode for me... it could easily slip into season 3 or 4 without seeming any different i think.
there was no topical humor, an interesting story, and a lot of characters were used that dont get a lot of screentime normally. 9/10 for me |

No seriously. It lacked the build up Luck of the Fryrish and The Sting had. The first half of the ep was pointless gags. Most of the emotional stuff was tied... to the ending, which feels more like a last ditch effort. It lacks the cohesion Fryrish had (it too followed a "gag" but they all feel relevant and flashbacks made it work towards the clincher).

At least today's ep shows that Brannigan isn't really picky, and while he's lecherous, he definitely doesn't care if that person is a mutant.
I guess it felt more like pointless rather than something like Fryrish, but then I'm one of those who keep on saying "Fryrish is better dammit!" |

Fryish is better! There was no wasted screen time in that episode, such well constructed episode. Just saying that Jurassic Bark is among the best of Futurama, at least for me.

Wow, that was a really great episode. Funny, focused, VERY WELL PACED. The latter surprise me the most as they had some major pacing problems recently, yet this one was balanced out pretty much perfectly. I thought a scene or two was pretty pointless (I didn't like surfing in space to control the ship), but these were just minor annoyances.
"Kif, I'm bored. What's say you go out on the wing and pretend you're a gremlin?" :lol |
