The Walking Dead: Episode 2 comes out this week (XBL-Wed, PSN-Fri)

The wait is over. The Walking Dead: The Game Episode 2 is coming this week. Yes, in a bit of last minute news, Episode 2: "Starving For Help" will land on Xbox Live tomorrow. PC and PS3 versions of the second of five downloadable episodes will arrive on Friday. Those dates are international with the exception of PS3; European PS3 users will have their own date to be announced later. Developer Telltale Games just makes it in the "June" release window the creators targeted back in May. A company spokesperson said the announcement of the dates comes so late because Telltale had to wait "until all of their platform partners confirmed their publishing schedules." |

This is my first experience with this method of selling a game and I can't say I'm too pleased with it. It backs up my sell me a complete game stance I've had.
Not talking about the quality of the episodes as 1 was pretty damn good. Just the release portion. |

SOE has been doing something similar for the last couple of DC Universe Online updates. They patch the DLC content into the game before the release date and then they just server side unlock it on release date for subscribers (usually on a Thursday). If you're not subscribed you have to wait till the following Store update on Tuesday to purchase the unlock license or bite the bullet and sub for instant access. I'm wondering if TellTale will be doing something similar to this for Walking Dead episodes and season pass owners.

European PS3 users get the cock shaft slammed at their face yet again. Maybe we'll get Episode 3 by December.
Read the Walking Dead Compendium a while ago in anticipation of the second episode so tge even longer wait for us euros is really bumming me out. I just want more WD. :( |

Bought the Season pass back when Episode 1 released, been eagerly awaiting Episode 2.
Me and my wife have really enjoyed it so far. I'm digging the art style and the game play. The characters are also really well done. This will give me something new to play on Friday, since I've already beat Gravity Rush and finally finished Catherine last night. |

Wow, they are delivering it just in time... Seems, they are trying to learn from Sega on how to do episodic gaming successfully. Try to have as large a gap as possible between the episodes. Episode 3 wont come in 2012 most likely then.
I am also sceptical whether we will get the 2nd episode on Friday on PSN... The SCEA team has to do an extra shift for this special release and they will most likely screw it up somehow. |
