July 20-22 is the third and final BWE. It was in the ANet blog, they should have probably put that in the video or something.
As for optimization, I'm guessing it will be ironed out for the few still having problems in the last bwe. I saw far less people complaining about the issues in the last beta and for a lot(me included) the game ran perfect. My vote: no Wasn't there talks of going to one of the newer servers that started with an N? |

Hmmm this is interesting. I swore off MMOs after WoW, but I loved GW1 and there is no subscription fee... I guess it depends on how much of my backlog I can get through between now and August 28, since as soon as October/November hits I'm going to be too busy with RE6 / XCOM / AC3 / Halo 4.

I would love to have tried the game out before, but it seemed pretty impossible to get into the beta.
I've been trying to figure out if I would like the game. I thought Guild Wars 1 was too PvP focused, and the PvE in the main game (never played the expansions) was boring as hell, so I would love to get a chance to try the game and find out if it's for me. Unfortunately, I have to pre-purchase a game I'm not sure I even want so that I can try it. Hell, I don't even know how the game is structured anymore? Is the game still PvP focused? Do skills still work the same as GW1? I've watched a dozen videos for the game, and I still cannot figure out if I would like it. I will say one thing about GW1: it ran damn nice on every rig I ever had. |

As far as the game itself, it turns WoW's models of questing, leveling, and tanking/DPS/healing upside down. It's hard to summarize all the changes in one post. |

It also does away with the idea of the class trilogy so you are not stuck needing healers / dps / tanks to get shit done. |

About damned time, though I originally suspected a July launch iirc. After this stress test, it showed this game is ready for sure. It was butter smooth, felt good, played good. No complaints. Most polished MMO launch ever incoming, though again, wish it were sooner.
No "WoW tombstone with 6.28.12 on it" yet? Internets have failed. |

Being able to dodge, and react to the enemy instead of just sit there waiting for skills to recharge, and watching the health bar go down is a breath of fresh air. With this system you focus on what the enemies are doing, and your surroundings more. Whenever you go to a lower lvl area you get down leveled to that area. This is nice because it allows you to go back and play with one of your friends who is just starting the game, or starting a new character. If I'm not mistaken, you also get drops for your level off of lower level enemies, but with less chance of getting good equipment. There are dynamic events happening all over within the world, encouraging you to help others with these events. You get an amount of experience based off of how much you helped with the event, so there is always incentive to help out. I'm sure there is plenty I've missed, and others in this thread know much more than I do, but that's my two cents. |

It's a little surreal. Hard to believe it's actually coming. And they picked a weekend for the next BWE so early in advance I can ensure nothing conflicts with that date. So one last 30 hour burst before I prepare for the initial rush. I'll have to delete some characters and practice the three professions I haven't tried yet... or save up some extra money for three immediate extra character slots...
But I'm extremely disappointed they've completely missed a summer release. Oh well, time to run through the backlog. |

As much as I'm happy, I'm hesitant about them being able to fix a majority of the issues by then. Traits are completely hosed right now, and only giving us one more beta to test any adjustments doesn't sound good. As well as stuff being completely broken (Ranger pets).

You know how SW:TOR, Rift, and Tera are all essentially carbon copies of WoW with minor changes? Yea, Guild Wars 2 is not that.

EDIT: To be even more fair, Tera's playstyle is completely different from WoW's - even moreso than GW2's is. |

Perhaps someone can answer this question for me: Is Guild Wars 2 like GW1? Because I thought GW1 was pretty awful.
I'm hoping GW2 is not like GW1 (pvp focused, boring PvE, heavily instanced with crowded city centers, only 5-6 armor models per class, heavily reliant on crafting rather than drops) I never played the expansions, so I have no idea if those fixed any of those issues, but I found vanilla GW1 to be severely lacking. |
