Wow they're desperately trying to get people to....not preorder the game? I mean I wasn't going to anyway but if I was then I wouldn't. Nuketown was fucking garbage overall and compared to the other Black Ops maps.

Such crap, they are going to screw with the map rotation on day 1, day fricking 1.

And for a "2025" version of an old map.

Welp. Guess that seals the deal for me. Nuketown 24/7 was wildly entertaining. A braindead, guilty pleasure.

But at least if you don't preorder then you won't get put in that map. It works out well for me.

This is in Best Buy's ad for next week, too.

It was only a matter of time before Activision bit on pre-order DLC strategies.

I loved Nuketown but splitting the community at launch with a preorder map is fucking stupid. Its enough to discourage me from buying the game.

It shows a distilled image of why Call of Duty's multiplayer is so popular (which is not necessarily the reason why CoD is ultimately good or bad). Easy for bad players to get cheap shots in (which means they will never be shut down), easy for mediocre players to get crazy killstreaks on a good day, and pretty much no wait time until you die and you are shooting a gun at someone(it is like super meat boy or w/e). Despite being a truly terrible map, they would probably make more money if most the maps were like this.

They should just make it its own mode so the assholes and trolls go over to that and let everyone else enjoy the game.

Some people didn't like Nuketown?! It's one of the few maps I like. The fast paced chaos was so much fun. It's what I want from something as arcadey playing as CoD.

One of the best maps indeed :) I love that you dont have to run for 10 minutes (hyperbole) before you get to see the enemy. Pretty much non-stop action on that map all the time.

Umm I really, really enjoyed Nuketown. I have been playing COD MP since COD4 and Nuketown is one of my all-time favorite maps.

I am not pre-ordering this though; I am done with COD after the crapfest that was MW3 MP. Oh well, more time for other games!

I hated Nuketown, until I bothered to learn it. I won't play it on a Nuke 24/7 server, but I don't mind it when it pops up in the rotation. Since I'm getting the PC version I'll most likely grab it just to have all the maps at launch I guess. I don't play single player, so I might as well get everything out of multi.

This will just split the players into groups depending on who has the map or not on the first day.

That's great.

So how does this kind of stuff work? I usually quit COD games by the time the first map pack comes out.

If someone is in the lobby and doesn't have nuketown, does that mean it will never show up as a random map or will that player get kicked if it does show up?

Nuketown was all I played in Black Ops. Loved the "24/7 Nuketown" servers lol. Yeah there was some bad spawn kills but it was just a lot of fun and so chaotic and I loved the bright suburban setting.

But the thing is this is what the industries biggest game's fanbase wants. This quick kills quick respawns.

Making it pre-order bonus is absolutely ridiculous though. Is Blops 2 not tracking to there standards or something I wonder what is the reason behind trying to goose the pre orders of what is already gonna be the biggest game of the year?

I imagine it will be like current DLC and it will allow you to enable and disable it, so if it is enabled you wont even enter a lobby unless everyone has it, with it disabled you play with everyone else that doesn't have it or has it disabled too.

Essentially it will split the community on a basis of if they pre-order from a certain place or not, the worst thing is that like DLC with MW3 it can take a long time to find a lobby with people that have the same DLC, Elite kinda saves this as everyone will have the same amount with the sub, though that is still a smaller percentage than those who don't.

But for day 1, I imagine a lot of people will have this disabled to find a match making it kinda of pointless.

Oh man that will be terrible especially right away for the non preorder people because the majority will be preordering. Well this wouldn't be the first time (by far) that the devs of a COD game have sacrificed balance or community for more dollars.

So i take it that US Gamestop is going to announce this as one of their pre order tiers. Probably the second wave. I will totally pre order if this turns out to be true. One of my favorite maps in all of Call of Duty's existence. Its just a bummer that its not included in the main game.
