*off in some distant woods, York is driving around to the whistle theme*
"We seem to be lost, Zach. Should've taken that fork in the road -- the sign said the PS3 was to the north. But speaking of forks, Zach, do you remember how they used to have 'sporks' in the cafeteria? That was back in high school, when Return of the Jedi came out. George Lucas actually approached David Lynch to helm Jedi after his work on The Elephant Man, but Lynch declined to direct Dune instead. Can you imagine if Lynch had made Jedi, Zach? Neither can I!" |

Soon as I'm done watching the entirety of Twin Peaks I'm playing through this game again.
Then I will play through it again when the PS3 version hits. Future replays will follow. |

Wish this would surface, this is an extremely high-priority in my backlog. I wish my 360 didn't start chewing discs.

I don't think I could've thought of Deadly Premonition any less, but I've started watching Twin Peaks for the first time on Netflix these past few days. I was aware of the comparisons before but damn, I can see now that the game is borderline plagiarism. It doesn't just use the show as an influence; it desperately wants to be Twin Peaks The Game, yet merely comes off as a crass imitator.
Which wouldn't be so bad, were it not for the fact that DP's offbeat tone only gels for the first three hours or so anyway. Then it pulls off a Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy by getting progressively more mental while at the same time shedding its comedic streak for a more serious tone. You're left with a shit game that has no redeeming value. Ramped up combat segments exacerbate things immensely. My advice to PS3 owners if the game ever makes its way onto the console - don't bother. Use that time to do what I'm doing now and watch Twin Peaks, it's great stuff. |

So create one. Twitter does not require any personal information. You can abandon (possibly even delete) your account when you're done. You can turn on Tweet privacy so that your tweets can only be seen by people who follow you. You have options :p

It is on PS3, in Japan. Under the name Red Seeds Profile.
That name is much cooler in my opinion. As far as I know the developers said they wanted to get a "director's cut" version out so that missed regions like PS3 North America/Europe could get in on it. But that may not happen. So if you have a PS3 and not a 360, import Red Seeds Profile. PS3 is region free. All dialog is in English. If you have a 360, buy the NA/EU version on that. |

Swery was asked about 2 weeks about it and replied, "Don't worry, speed is not important, right?" Haha. |

I asked Rising Star Games' prezzy about it back in April.

I finished this game on 360 and loved it. I've since started up Twin Peaks on netflix (first time watching) -- This game clearly drew a lot of inspiration from this series, wouldn't you all agree?
edit: just read two posts up.. so apparently this is well known.... ah well |

Shit game?
Whatever. I think it's one of the few games worth a damn that was produced this generation. |

Me and my buddy were playing it at his place a while back. His dad walked in the room and started commenting on how crap it looked. It was during one of the cutscenes at the diner early in the game. Old man just didn't comprehend how we could enjoy something because it's bad.

Wasn't it a delayed port? So they would've required some exclusive content? I've no clue why that stopped a PAL release though, as SCEE doesn't have the same (or any) restrictions.

I don't know if I would say it's the best, but the narrative elements here are certainly in the canon of greatness.
Maybe it was, but I recall reading that Ignition wanted to originally release on both PS3 and 360 and for whatever reason SCEA said no? |
