Not much else to say, the new MSRP for Gears of War 3 is $29.99. Also, the Microsoft Speed Wheel for Xbox 360 now sells for $39.99.

Best buy still shows $50 for the Speed Wheel and $60 for Gears 3. Did this literally just get announced moments ago?

e: Hm, BB seems to be the outlier; Walmart and GameStop show the new pricing.

Gears 3 is the only Gears I like. That being said, it's been cheaper than $30 many times so the MSRP dropping doesn't really matter much.

Pros: Best gameplay of the series
Phenomenal graphics - probably underrated on NeoGaf

Cons: Poor story
Music is not memorable - The first one in the series had the best music but that composer only worked on the first game

Definitely worth playing. Some of the graphical tricks used in this game are simply jaw dropping.

that's how they get ya. The map packs are actually pretty good though and you can use them in Horde and Beast which is cool.

People dropping out of Horde games is super shitty. Tried for a week straight to go 50 rounds and couldn't. Also the fact that people are allowed to pause the game during online co-op games really suck as well.

But single player was fun. Cool to hear ICE-T's voice.

No need to pile on on that guy who somehow felt Gears 3 was broken, I think that's been handled enough already by the rest of you guys.

But yes, for $30, you can't go wrong whatsoever since they've outdone so many other shooters out there with having dedicated servers, and I still play every day.

Still my #1 shooter till Halo 4 comes out and hopefully shares that spotlight.

If so, then tacking on the DLC I imagine brings this back up to 60+ since Gears without dedi's is a bit of a nightmare. :(

One playlist has dedicated servers with no map pack. All others need the map pack.

I'm also wondering if this is true. I haven't played Gears 3 MP in forever so I wouldn't know if this is the case.

Still even their p2p code is really really solid, at least judging by the beta.

big deal if you want to play online (without someone dominating/lag/shadyness) then you have to pay another 30 to get the season pass to play with dedicated servers. I used to play Gears 3 online all the time but refuse to pay 30 more dollars to just have a better connection online.

The best thing about Gears of War 3 is dedicated servers for an online console game. Makes a MASSIVE difference in the level of frustration you feel at the game.

Edit: Shit, didn't realize dedicated servers are now limited to season pass holders.
