Random travel tip: Come to Sweden and do some hiking in the mountains of Norrland (the northern half of Sweden) and see the midnight sun. Dear god but Norrland is beautiful. Crisp, clean air, breath-taking nature and a population of ~8 people per square mile. Also: most beautiful women in Europe, that belgian guy wasn't wrong!

As for tourist spots, our national stadium Croke Park in Drumcondra recently launched a skywalk. You get to walk on the very top of the stadium and have the sights of Dublin all around you. I'll be doing that myself soon with my dad as a late Father's Day gift. |

Haven't been to it myself but I was told by a friend who was in Dublin not too long ago that the Jameson Distillery is well worth a visit too, said it was better than the Guinness one.

Should definitely try and make it to the london meet up on saturday! Easily doable from dublin. (plus you can hang out with another american for a day)
My favorite part about Ireland is just hiring a car and driving around everywhere. The cliffs of moher are really nice. Though thats on the other side of ireland... |

Dublin is my least favourite part of ireland. My personal fav is the west. Moher, the burren, connemara - beautiful, rugged and unique scenery right on the edge of europe. The northern coast is also great. Giants Causeway, Carrickaree and Dun Aengus all great sights. Dublin.....not so much. Having said that Newgrange is only about an hour from you. Amazing feeling going inside it, even if the interior is claustrophobically small. Cant wait for more updates though and it has reminded me I probably should share my roadtrip experiences this summer too. Myself and some friends spent a month going from New Orleans to LA with everything in between.

I haven't traveled extensively but one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to was Cinque Terre in Italy. Check it out if you're in the area and have a great time.

Staying at the Temple Bar area. Visited Trinity College, walked the campus, saw the Book of Kells. Uneventful drab tourism alert! The Long Hall was impressive, but no photography allowed.
At a cafe now unwinding a bit. Some hooligans just walked in a moment ago and one of them went for my phone on the table, but his fat stubby arms couldn't reach. Will be more particular with my belongings. Need that shower! After I'm able to check in and bathe I'll figure out the specifics of the rest of the day and try to do something worthwhile. I'll stay today and tomorrow in Dublin, I think, get a feel for it and do a couple bar crawls and drink up on Guinness, and then head to Galway. I keep hearing about the ocean race there really sparking up the city and being a worthwhile visit. From there I'm well situated, it looks like, to check out the Cliffs of Moher, so that makes sense to me. |

Temple Bar, sounds so verboten and awesome!
P.S.: Can we restrain from convoluting the thread with pics to lure EviLore to OUR location? It will be a pain to go through walls of pics to find the actual pics of the trip. I mean there is a recs thread for this trip already. Dunno, just my 2 cents.

The nightlife in Temple Bar is pretty good, you should be able to find something to do in the pubs there although it's going to be more quiet this early in the week. If you haven't guessed already I'm from Dublin, so ask away if you're looking for something in particular. :P |

If you're looking for somewhere to ear near temple bar, try crack bird. Its a super delicious hipster-y style restaurant/cafe. If you want more Irish food, try The Pig's Ear. Its a fairly modern take on Irish cuisine (which is often pretty bland) and not crazy expensive like some of the top restaurants around.

You're gonna have to trust me on this. The provincial final for hurling (fastest field game in the world!) is on this Sunday in croke park. I highly recommend you go have a look at the senior final at 4. There's a ticketmaster station in the Stephens green shopping centre at the top of grafton street. If you find yourself in the southeast I'll give you a tour. |

Agreed. Enough with the overly photoshopped and manicured tourism images already!

Plus if you make it this far you could come via Donegal and enjoy the sights there, head to Derry/Londonderry and take the Causeway Coastal route down past Downhill, Giants Causeway etc. and go the whole way to Belfast. You'll be able to see some of the places where Game of Thrones was filmed if you head along the North Coast.

I wouldn't say normal but some of the scumbags around here have a crazy amount of balls when it comes being the worst. Last week a fella walked up to me and me for bus money while eating a deli roll that cost about 5 euro. When I pointed this out to him, he threatened to kick my head in and then just walked off.

Completely random statement here, but Trinners is beautiful. My second choice for college next year though.
I'll go soon. I really wanna see Free Derry in particular. It's a county with such a strong history.

Then what I'd do is use the rest of the day to head down the North Coast. |

It wasn't pointed at you and it's not my choice anyway. It was merely a proposal. Maybe it's a total non issue, I don't know. I was just afraid the thread would end up plastered with other pics. it's 1 EviLore against thousands of us Euros after all, and we all want him to visit us, us, us!

If everyone else can refrain from posting images in tags, that will help with my loading the thread on universally shitty public internet. Plus all the images will be from me, which is preferable for my thread anyway. When suggesting, feel free to link to stuff though.

OMG Ledsen, is that Torneträsk ? I went there on November and it was dead, cold, brutal and unbelievably scenic. This looks like a total difference place during summer.
EviLore, if you wanna come to Switzerland, come by and say hello, I'd show you some places of interest. |
