I'm really worried that they are going to gut the "Cosmic Marvel" universe. A&L did such a great job in creating a structure in that disjointed mess and making it relevant again. |

They did the same thing to Morrison's New X-Men. Didn't change the fact that it still exists as a perfect, stand alone work. They can tear the whole thing down (and it looks like they are) and it won't change the fact that A/L's long form story exists.

Agreed, though I think there was many more great stories to tell in that environment. Let me ask you a question though... in your opinion would a complete reboot (aka DCU 52) be better for the MU at this point, rather than trying to fit in what are starting to look like a huge number of changes into existing continuity? |

Marvel is super good at maintaining the core threads of its continuity, on a character level. I would hate to see them New 52 it and try and, like, put different people in Reed's space ship for a new FF or make Bruce Banner Spider-Man or some shit. As much as this Nick Fury Jr thing is lame, I'd much prefer that then just resetting everything and introducing a new one. At least they're committed to maintaining this universe. Yes there are always new Avengers but that makes sense. They've built that team as a recruiting organization that protects the world, so it's not crazy that Wolverine and Cyclops might hate each other but still work together if Kang wanted to take another dump on the time space continuum. tl,dr: Marvel Rules. |

It really makes me wonder how long this was in the pipeline, because this makes a lot more sense with the stuff announced and released in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. A year ago, Rocket Racoon, Nova and Hawkeye being in the game made no sense. NOW, it's brilliant, but it feels too little too late. Feels like the type of thing that kept getting pushed more and more and more until the Avengers' success prompted some sort of undue change.
Personally, I don't know why you need to have a response to the movies' success. If that stuff starts spilling into the source material, there will be no where for the fans of what's actually been going on to go. This seems to be moving super fast for something that's had inklings of evidence scattered around in various forms for so long. |

They're also further integrating their universe. Usually it was X-Men and Avengers were almost in separate universes. Now we have X-Men and Avengers on same teams. Its pretty groovy.

I wonder if Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. will be a Thunderbolts relaunch. Hulk? Skarr? Luke Cage? One team? Shit yes.

That San Fran to NYC commute will be hell for Cyke. Pixie once again validates her existence.

And also, the idea that if somehow Cyclops snaps out of his craziness and gets along with Wolverine somehow negates the existence of the Jean Gray school is bonkers. It'd be amazing if Scott comes around to the benefit of the idea. |

Yeah. I'm a bit nervous of how these new writers will handle Mavel's cosmic universe. Abnett and Lanning did a great job making cosmic Marvel relevant again and it would be a shame if Loeb, Bendis, and others screws it up.

This is terrible news for GotG and Nova. Those two series without abnett and lanning just will not be the same at all. I am not saying no other writers could do stories with those characters but Bendis and Loeb of all people? Really? This is not going to end well. Sure some people could say "at least we are getting more stories with them" but if those stories are poor and shoddily written why would I want them?
Also Nova is guaranteed to not be Richard Rider with Loeb at the helm which not only makes little sense but also completely ignores one of the best characters of the comic stories...and the -real- Nova. Considering the stories will likely suck though maybe it's good that Richie "gets" to sit out for now so someone better can deal with his story later. This new Nova is still shitting over the Nova name and concept in general though. |

The day they fuck Cyclops again is the day I think I'm done with Marvel. PICK ANOTHER WHIPPING BOY.
