I think the rectangle could be a removable plate, not a pedestal.

Using the square rubbers as a size reference point, it totally looks like the fat PS3, but then again the rubbers in the new model might be smaller.

I was thinking that too. Are the rubber feet on the Slim the same size as the Fat?

Well it's a new case, Super Slim at Gamescom with price drop confirmed.
Looking at the picture it looks really similar to the PS3 Fat, so maybe they're using the old curvy design but with the size of a Dremcast :D

It actually could very well happen that they're be a 'Wonderbook' bundle with this version costing around 250.

If you look closely here:

there's something on the left side which looks like an eject slider for discs.

It's here:

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/...AK8CBEH19C1%27

under Id Label/Location.
Upper left you can see the profile of something which looks like a manual eject slider for the Blu Ray drive.
Bottom left Sony logo.

No.

Looks more like a concaved eject button, or some LEDs. You can see two buttons bottom left as well.

No, not at all. It's far from exact. I'm just going off of the assumption that the rubber feet will be the same size on this new model.

I don't think it's a bad line, it looks like something, be it a led, a button, a slider.
But we'll see, I really enjoy to discover this stuff before it's announced :P

If you look closer at my pic you can clearly see it's just a portion of another image coming from the left that just happens to overlap the line.

Right since they also serve as screw covers in both cases iirc. This looks to be longer but much less deep than the slim, wonder if it's smaller overal, maybe a lower profile too.

Those are not just predictions, they are educated guesses from available documents you can get from the internet. Yes jeff could be wrong and this will be just a small redesign but I want him to be right. IMO

Seems like really good timing. A pricedrop and a new model leading into next year when the PS3 is loaded with what should be very high quality software.
