Seriously? Arizona, Utah, and Arkansas are all worse. And, parts of Louisiana, Texas, and Georgia are great. South Florida has it's perks, too.

Florida is really fucking crazy though. I was going to make a post in OT about this, but I figured maybe I will just say it in here.
My parents and I moved here recently (thank god I live a lone), my mom and dad are in a 55+ retired home community. They are manufactured homes, not trailers. Anyway, the other day this guy that was super friendly to my parents walked into his neighbors house, pointed a gun at the guys face, and blew him away. All over some stupid feud they have been having for the last few years, about what only god knows. I mean these people lived like a few houses down from my parents, we just moved here and already a 1st degree murder in spitting distance. I know this can happen anywhere, but jesus christ. With all the Florida craziness of late, this does not bode well for the state in my opinion at least. Fuck I need to get rich and move my parents out of this place. http://www.tampabay.com/news/publics...nds-in/1238679 Even the comments in the article "Neighbors drinking busche beer, lady asking if the wife was doing ok "Considering" ... fuck fuck fuck so bad. |

I dunno, but I sometimes decide to Google street view the most random places in the middle of nowhere, and every single place I dropped down to in those two states looked awful.
There's nothing that looks even remotely that bad around here. That said I drove cross-country from NYC to LA via the deep south with my dad when I was like 13 and I loved all of it. Went through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc. |

Joke's on you. She's actually originally from Alabama.
For all of you pissing on Alabama and Mississippi, how many of you have actually been to either state? Not saying that either state would win awards, but it's no where near as bad as some of the stereotypes would make it seem. |

Arkansas may not have shit going on, but at least we have the decency to put some freaking gas stations and truck stops along the side of the interstate so you can grab a bag of chips and fuel up or something.
Road trip to Atlanta last year I can sum up the drive through Alabama: trees, Birmingham, trees. THAT'S IT. |

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider

There are some places in northern Florida that are fucking scary. No thanks. I'll stick to the gulf coast. |

I remember when I made a thread about LA being the worst place on earth, people got pretend upset, but in the south it seems like people are REALLY defensive about their shitholes.
Other states that fucking blow: Idaho (ohhhhh myyy goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood) N./S. Dakota Most of Montana The middle portion of Washington Ohio |

There are crappy cities to live in, but there are beautiful places to live in every state.
Like, Manchester, Ga. It's right outside Warm Springs. Crap city. Nothing to do, no one has any money. LaGrange, GA. Bunch of uppity folks from rich families who can't drive. Columbus, GA. Has a little of everything. Atlanta, GA. Has even more of everything. Savannah, beautiful city. Helen, Dahlonega, great places to visit on vacation. It all depends. |

From my research (watching Alabama football games), Alabama has some gorgeous women. Since watching Two-A-Days on MTV I have wanted to go to Alabama to find a southern belle and bring her back to Oklahoma. I am a sucker for a southern accent.
I remember Mississippi having the shittiest roads but it has been about 15 years since I have been through there. |

Looked at the first page, couldn't figure out the outrage. Are we pretending alabama and mississippi aren't shit holes now? They're full of the same awful people we have here in Florida, they're just not as big. If Florida's fair game then so are those states.

Slight correction, but according to Wikipedia G.W. Bush was born in the unholy dimension of Zhalfarr when a demon accidentally ejaculated on the Holy Book of Barlog, which shattered the boundaries between our dimensions and gave birth to the demon spawn that had been prophesied for 17 eons.

I spent 10 years in Mississippi. In that time, I visited and drove through Alabama frequently enough to have an informed opinion of it. Mississippi is worse. It's a terrible fucking place, and I say that as someone who is "from" Mississippi. Don't go.
If you go to AL, go to Birmingham, maybe. Or the coast, like Gulf Shores or Fort Morgan. If you do wind up in MS, the only tolerable places to go are Jackson, Hattiesburg, and maybe Gulfport. Don't go. Also, fuck you. |

Helen and Dahlonega are beautiful places. I did like the drive around Warm Springs, or more specifically, Pine Mountain.

I just went to Northern Florida and that was enough shitholes for me. I had to double take sometimes to make sure that I wasn't in Eastern Europe. Parts of the nation still haven't fully recovered from the civil war.
