Is it worth it to get a Vita?
#1
I'm kind of interested in getting one, but... if the install base is low, that means less games and less games means... well, it would be a waste of money.
And for the record, I have a 3DS already. I only have one game and I'm only interested in Kingdom Hearts at this point. That doesn't have a lot of games I want either, evidently... for now. |

If there are a couple games out now that really interest you, definitely. It's really something to behold, you don't appreciate just how sleek it is until you get it in your hands. The screen is incredible.
There's quite a lot of angst about "vita haz no gamez!!!", but the thing hasn't even been out a year. This is the same thing people said for the first 4 or 5 years of the PSP's life, and all of a sudden looking back it has one of the best catalogues of any system ever. Having said all that though, I currently am leaning towards a 3DSXL over a Vita... |

Does any of that interest you? If so, yes. If no, no. |

This completely depends on how much money you have and are willing to spend. I didn't mind buying a Vita at all, because it didn't affect me financially.
You're a smart person, you can easily figure out how many Vita games you're interested in. If you've got the money and it won't break the bank, get one if you think it'll make you happy. I don't use my Vita much at all, but I don't regret my purchase at all, either. This question varies from person to person, so the only one who can answer it is yourself. |

Depends on your income. If you can easily afford it then yes, best handheld ever. If it's going to take some budget stretching then you should probably wait for a price drop or game bundle like the Assassin's Creed one.
There's no reason to absolutely need one right this second, but it is gorgeous. |

I'd say it is. Theres a good amount of great stuff for it IMO, with a nice few games to look forward to, plus PSP and PSX games to go along with that.
Get one at a price lower than $250 or a bunch of stuff for that price if you can though, Craigslist is really good for that from my experiences. I still need to get one myself x_x |

The PSP games that I've gotten after missing them the first time have made it worth it alone since they look amazing on that screen. Then I have about 14 Vita games. I think it was well worth it.
Edit: Most people that own one will tell you it's worth it. Most people that don't own one will tell you it's not worth it. I think you'll get a better idea from the people that have them since, you know, they know what they're talking about. |

I got one almost entirely for PSP games and Persona 4 Golden, but Gravity Rush and Uncharted are pretty great, too. Soul Sacrifice is looking good as well.
Honestly, I'd say wait until the holidays. There's bound to a a price drop sooner rather than later, with sales as terrible as they are. |

IMO, short answer: no
Long answer: no, wait for the inevitable slim version and check out the software then. it's not worth it in the current form. I've been optimistic about it before launch with price and the hardware, and I couldn't believe how bad Sony flops it without killer games. Monster Hunter 3G and Monster Hunter 4 Exclusive to the 3DS, and still no sign of them showing in vita is a huge blow. I don't really quite understand why would Capcom ignore vita except may be the fact that they can reuse most of the assets again which were mostly made for PS2 at the first place. Sales were definitely worse than on the PSP after their lesson with MH3 on the Wii. But whatever. There are some gems like Gravity Daze for instance, but it ain't enough. |

Depending on your tastes, the average used price of $180 or so plus access to PSP games if you don't have one makes it worth it right there. Unless you burn through games like crazy I'm sure between PSP stuff (Atlus games for me), the solid fighting game lineup, and the handful of minor greats like Wipeout, it should be good. I despaired after E3 but now that the prices are where they are I'm interested in getting one for sure.

If its just one game you want at the moment, it's probably best to wait a little. I think the system is worth it, and haven't regretted my decision to buy it, but that's because there were a lot of games I wanted for it, both for vita and psp. But yeah it can be worth it if you want the games for it, but I think it's best to wait for three games you want at least to buy the system. That's what I do and it's always worked out for me.
