Which... I don't particularly approve of either, but I'd rather see tits than like 30,000 games with the EA Sports logo. |

Yup, that's Adol. I sold him that Cyberbots. :)
This is a brag auction, but at the same time, its not. This auction doesn't have his Neo Geo collection, his Euro Neo Geo Pocket, his US SNES collection, his japanese PSX collection, etc. In other words, he gave a price that he wouldn't mind letting these go for, and he'd still have games that he'd be able to look at on his shelf after pocketing a stupid amount of money. |

He's a good guy, though -- trustworthy dude to buy shit from. Ya know... if you're in the market for a million dollars of games. |

![]() I don't know what use that collection has, apart from the bragging rights. it's not like you'd have the time to play them all. I think it would just depress me to look at the sheer scale of it all, but maybe that says more about me. An impressive collection nonetheless. |

Give you an example: On the Japanese Sega Saturn, you'll be able to sell most if not all of the shooters, and fighters. Games like Soukyugurentai, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and Metal Slug will all sell, because they're very import friendly, and in high demand. Games like Psychic Assasisin Taromaru command a LOT of money. However, after those have been sold off, you now have games like Can Can Bunny and Idol Maajan Final Romance 2. They MIGHT sell eventually, but you'll be sitting on expensive inventory for a long time. |

This is not the best way to become a video game collector. The best way is to walk into a garage sale or goodwill store and see they have Nintendo World Championship, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Earthbound etc. and they'll sell it to you for a quarter each.
Yes, I have had dreams like that. I have no idea how some of you guys actually do that because the best thing I ever got from a garage sale was the Diablo 2 expansion disc for $4. |

I did a quick bit of math. Based on the numbers given (plus some counting at the bottom of his list of the PC-FX and Laseractive games), this auction is for roughly 7,000 games. Not counting the systems included, this puts the average cost of each game at around $176.87 at the current exchange rate for the Buy It Now price. A bargain!

Highly doubt it will sell at that price. Unless someone with a ton of money just wants to spend a lot on a ton of random games they don't care about.
If I've learned anything from Pawn Stars, it's that the market for a massive collection is very limited. Someone who wants all of the Sega games might not give a fuck about PC Engine titles. Someone who wants every NES game might only collect NES games and say "Why the fuck would I want 550 Dreamcast games?" Better to split them all up by console only or category or something. I think if it does sell, it will be to someone who buys it just because they can, not because they really want anything out of it. |

And only an idiot would wonder why they need 550 Dreamcast games. |

Reminds me why I hate ebay, everyone thinks their junk is the most valuable junk in the world.
It's a great collection no doubt, but how about you start the bidding at something like $25,000, champ, rather than a million dollars? I'd be surprised if he got 50K for it all by the end. |

Aww, that's so sad. A person who obviously have a passion for games is selling his entire collection. Why? Did he loose his passion or does he need the money for something important? By the looks of it he's selling a big part of his memory.
Oh, by the way, that's hardly every game ever. That's an ridiculous exaggeration. Still a very impressive collection. I reckon it'll take me at least ten years before my collection is quite that big. If all goes as planned though, his collection will look small compared to mine in thirty years. All depends on how the future plays out. |
