Although I don't think this will happen, this did get me thinking about whether or not the show would end vague or if they would try to provide closure as much as possible. I'm wondering what everybody else would think if, at the end, they showed a montage of how the reprecussions of everybody's actions finally catch up to them? I'm envisioning it in a way that we see Skyler arrested for her part in Walter's organisation, Hank killed later in his line of work when he keeps up his 'tough' exterior facade, Marie arrested for shoplifting, Saul killed by an unsatisfied client or arrested, Jesse overdosing, Mike killed later as he takes up a job from somebody else and so on (all of this under the assumption that everybody survives to the end). I'm not sure if it's something I particularly want and as such I'm just wondering how much ambiguity everybody wants or if they want absolute closure such as the above example.

EDIT: My mistake, BenjaminBirdie seems to be correct that you were indeed talking about the S5 Part 1 cliffhanger. The "S4" is what threw me off but I apologise for ignoring the context of the post. In that case, I still don't see a major cliffhanger at the end of Part One (or at least, I hope they don't do that). I would hope it is a little more self contained and there is some closure to the main story of the first part while still having enough open to continue Part Two with. If they do include such a cliffhanger it would certainly make the wait hellish though (probably why I hope they avoid any major ones such as what you've described).

EDIT 2: The ending is also of a similar style to another show, I'm just hoping that if anybody that is aware of it would mind spoiler tagging it if you recognise it so as to avoid potentially spoiling it on anybody else. Perhaps I'm just being overly cautious since it doesn't really give anything away about that show's ending itself but I'd still appreciate it, thanks.

The Six Feet Under ending? No thanks. I don't want to see Marie in a purple collarless shirt that's supposed to look like "The Future".

Also, I think he was referring to a potential S5 Part 1 cliffhanger, not the end of the series.

This has become by far my favourite show on TV.

On the one hand it kinda pisses me off that we only get 8 episodes this year, but on the other hand that means the show isn't ending this year. I really don't want this show to end... ever.

Hank's gotta fall sometime, I hope we get to see it before the end of the show. My bet is that this year Walt is going to find out that it's not always good to be king, and he's going to be constantly fighting off threats. Whether it's the DEA, the Cartel, Jesse and/or Skyler turning on him, or some new cook chopping at his ankles that will eventually take him down, I don't know.

That's worked for other shows but I don't think it would work as well here. If any of that stuff happens it'll be a part of the series and will be worked into the main plot.

That is what I had in mind with regard to what I had posted but I'm thinking more of in a general sense with regard to what way people would prefer the series to end, if they would prefer absolute closure similar to that show's ending, if a much more ambiguous ending would be prefered or a mixture of ambiguity and closure? I do tend to agree with both you and RoboPlato that complete closure would not work particularly well in Breaking Bad's case (afterall there has been multiple storyline's that have had some ambiguous details such as in season 4 Brock's method of poisoning or the specific details regarding Gretchen and Walter [although it is strongly implied]) but I'm not really sure how much closure they should give everything on the show. If they leave it too ambiguous it may end up unsatisfying to many viewers (another well-renowned show immediately springs to mind with regard to this, even if the ending of said show can be interpretted via the final scene) whereas complete closure as both of you say would not fit in particularly well with the rest of the series. I know various endings from Walter dying of cancer, Walter "winning" in the end, being killed by Jesse and more were all mentioned in the previous thread but most predictions or possibilites seem to disregard or ignore the other characters which is why I'm curious if people want all of that wrapped up before the final episode (which will then be focusing on Walter and somebody else) or if they want it to end focusing on Walter but leave the faith of everybody else (or their plots) a mystery.

The pilot was Walt's 50th birthday. The title of episode four is "Fifty-one", take from that what you will.

Okay, interesting. The year seems a little crammed though. if you went through every episode and counted every day/night transition, where the hell did he get any time to do all this stuff? it makes me feel lazy honestly... maybe i need some blue stuff

Season 4 is elligible for the Emmys this year (the performer ballot for example is here: http://www.emmys.tv/ballots/2012/performers) so Cranston and Aaron Paul should, hopefully, win this year (they certainly deserve it) and maybe it will finally win the best drama award as Season 4 was absolutely superb. Also worth noting is that Johnathan Banks, Dean Norris, Bob Odenkirk, RJ Mitte (possibly for most convincing pancake-eater) and Giancarlo Esposito (I hope I didn't spell that wrong) are up for supporting actor in addition to Aaron Paul.

Also very good observation by Dave is Ok, somehow I don't think it will be a particularly happy birthday this year.

and I guess everyone felt the same that it could of easily wrapped on season 4, but still frothing at the mouth for more?

They should be fine. Let's just not extrapolate too much from them if you actually know what's going to happen. By the way, I posted a response to the timeline issue over in the spoiler thread because something isn't adding up.
