season 5 has been sub par but ep 7 and 8 saved it some what. Time to save the show and end it. I dont want another Dexter or Lost.

Something of a personal observation, but it feels to me that season 1 & 2 are it's own separate entities, same with seasons 3 & 4, with 5 also being its own thing.

Or to be more articulate, the first two seasons had it's own story arc with Walt starting up, his deception and slow decent to the dark side (along with establishing Jesse's character as someone who shouldn't get mixed up in this business), while the next two seasons obviously dealt with Gus's antagonism, but more specifically Walt's further decent and how it affected relationships with the people around him. Season 5 obviously is Walt's eventual rise and fall from my half-finished perspective.

Basically if BB was a series of novels, it would be divided into three books.

What the person below this is more eloquently and cleverly saying is that the show was announced to be ending a long, long, long time ago after the end of season 5, the next eight episodes of which are airing next summer. so your concerns are pointless.
oh, and season 5 was awesome.

Was just discussing BB with a coworker. Oddly, my favorite line from the entire series happened in season one.

"There's nothing but chemistry here." Loved that line/scene.

God damn I love Aaron Paul. My dad had a meeting to go to so my mom came over and watched the first two episodes of Breaking Bad with me at my place. I have been trying to get them both to watch this show FOREVER. They always watch horrible shit like CSI, figured they needed a good show in their lives.

She absolutely loved it. Laughing at every scene with Jesse. Now just need to get my dad on board.

I managed to get my parents into it too, they love it. My dad had some problems with the more violent and depressing scenes at first but my mom was super chill since she's used to watching so many police dramas, lol.

Nice job! My mom said "OMG your right he is just like your father". I told her previously that Walter White reminds me of dad so much. Everything from the white collar nerdy look, no criminal past, would never even think of speeding. Then that look WW get's on his face when he rages at the car wash. She said "That looks just like your father when he gets mad!".

I am really hoping I can get him into watching it with her at night, easily my favorite show ever.

this is showtime we're talking about, in 6 seasons we'll be talking about how far homeland fell off and how shitty it is and how the next 3 seasons (hopefully the last ones) are going to painful.

haha. My dad also struggles with the violence and lack of redeeming character qualities. He knows it's a good show but can't watch it.

Quote:
The Breaking Bad win of the evening at tonight's 64th Primetime Emmy Awards went to Aaron Paul for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. It was his third nomination for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman and his second Emmy win. "Oh my God" Paul said, accepting the award. He directly addressed fellow cast member and nominee Giancarlo Esposito, calling it an honor to share the category with him and concluded his speech with thanking Vince Gilligan and the writing staff for not killing him off.

Paul bested stiff competition this year also winning out Brendan Coyle and Jim Carter of Downton Abbey, Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones, and Jared Harris of AMC's Mad Men.

Breaking Bad returns next summer and is not available on DISH.

Huh. I thought Giancarlo Esposito already won an Emmy for his role as Fring?

Anyway, Bryan Cranston should have won of Damion Lewis, but I'm also glad that Aaron Paul finally got his spotlight (although I read that this was his second Emmy win?).

I would have been happy/sad either way. Both were of another caliber, so that it went to the show at all is great enough.

Nah, this was Giancarlo's first nomination.

And Bryan's streak ending is a little disappointing, but you know he'll pick up at least one more trophy. I'm still not sure how this one season over two years thing works for awards, but I think he can grab nominations in 2013 and 2014.

Aaron Paul had already won, this was his third nomination. He didn't get nominated for the first season, got nominated and lost for the second, won for the third, and then this was for the fourth season.

Oh, then I wish Giancarlo won then. Both were really good honestly and I wouldn't be able to pick between the two (Paul and Esposito) personally but I'm sure Aaron Paul has two more really good shots of winning another emmy for Pinkman while Giancarlo Esposito doesn't have another shot winning as Fring and Fring was a scary, controlled, and cold villain due mostly to Giancarlo's acting.

Agreed. Cranston's performance as Walter White is probably the best performance I've seen on TV or movie.

If Cranston is going to lose to anyone, I don't mind it being Damien Lewis, who is also elite tier (Band of Brothers performance was just legendary, and Homeland is awesome, Life was also good mainly just because of him)
