Kanye West "My Music is Perfect" -- The Beethoven of this lifetime
#1
Kanye is among my favorite artists, but statements like this + the ridiculous themes/content of his recent work makes me question what happened to the dude that made the excellent College Dropout / Late Registration.
"If you have something to give the world, a lot of times, the press just tries to take everything negative. Just look at MediaTakeOut, they so fuckin’ full of shit. Show your motherfuckin’ face so I can smack the shit out of you! Making up shit every day," he ranted. "I am flawed as a human being. I am flawed as a person. As a man, I am flawed. But my music is perfect! This is the best you gon’ get ladies and gentlemen in this lifetime, I’m sorry. You go back to Beethoven and shit, but as far as this lifetime though, this is all you got." Doesn't offend me. We all know this is part of his persona.

Kanye is the man. Big fan of his music and I even like his persona. He's funny, cocky and even self-aware (despite what South Park would have you believe).
I don't really like how there's almost always an inherent negative slant to any article regarding him. Like when he showed up to Occupy Wall Street to show support but wasn't speaking in front of cameras because he knew anything he would say would get twisted, and then articles came out blasting him for wearing jewelry, or too nice of a shirt. Give a fucking break, dude doesn't stand a chance because people just want to read about what an asshole he is. Listening to the actual statement, he's even laughing at points. He's at a concert and stunting in a stadium full of his fans. You'd have to think he was completely without humor or self-awareness to take this as anything serious. Leave Yeezy alone!!
