Recommend a linear 360 game for me!
#1
I'll have some time on my hands in a couple of weeks and I'd like to sink my teeth into a nice, linear game for the 360.
I loved: Half Life 2 + eps Portal 1+2 Bioshock Deus Ex: HR Bayonetta Dead Space Batman:AA and AC (despite being open worldy, I really dug AC. it was paced nice and the map was well made enough that I didn't ever feel lost.) Any great titles I might be missing out on? Nothing multiplayer and nothing open world... sandbox games don't hold my attention. Thanks!

thanks for all the suggestions, guys! gonna look into a bunch of these as i am not familiar with them.
Loved the combat, hated the atmosphere. Loved the atmosphere, hated the combat.

The very best. Also Syndicate is a decent fast paced FPS. Binary Domain is pretty solid. Alice: Madness Returns is also great and hard to even get lost in. Prince of Persia 08 was pretty good, though a bit more open. But you can tackle things are your own pace. And of course the great FFXIII. Metro 2033 is also very linear and very atmospheric. Get it!

Metro 2033
Great mood, soundtrack and visuals.Story is not bad either.Weakest point in this game is it's gameplay. It's not always bad but sometimes enemies are to spongey(there are still one shot headshots and DLC where your and your enemies weapons are stronger) and stealth can be frustrating if you don't have right tools for a job. Despite it's flaws I really enjoyed it,it sucked me in really hard due to great setting, mood and narration. Alan Wake is great and atmospheric too. |

Halo 3 and Reach
Gears Franchise Singularity (if you liked bioshock, you might dig it) Alan Wake Max Payne 3 Binary Domain Rayman Origins obviously you should also play the Mass Effect trilogy...not totally linear, but then neither are Bioshock or Arkham City and you can kind of play Mass Effect in a linear way if you want to. |

I cast my vote for Singularity as well. It was a criminally overlooked game. Excellent atmosphere, satisfying combat, cool super powers, and three great endings. Also you can get it for a $16 at Amazon, not a bad price at all.

This is a recommendation thread, not a 'list the most linear game you can think of' thread.
Check out the Halo series if you like shooters. They're still really good even if you ignore multiplayer. He did specifically say he was looking for 'great' games. |

Plus it was a joke people. I wouldn't recommend FFXIII to anyone. On a serious note. I definitely agree with all of the Alan Wake recommendations. Absolutely loved that game and the DLC's. Also, I'm playing through Splinter Cell Conviction right now and really enjoying it. Will be the first Splinter Cell game I've ever finished. |

Condemned: Criminal Origins and Condemned: Bloodshot.
CO is better, but Bloodshot is also pretty good. They're both the last vestiges of survival horror on consoles. I also second Lost Odyssey. You can taste the attempt at starting a new Final Fantasy franchise the entire time you play, and the 1,000 Years of Dreams stories are some of the best writing in gaming ever. |

Witcher 2 is pretty linear; I had a really good time with it a few weeks back (once I figured out how to navigate around in Vergen, at least. I feel like that city had a confusing layout. It's not big or sandboxy, it just took me forever to figure out how to get to the back entrance.)
