PSP firmware update without battery #1

I know there's this battery check before a firmware update can happen but unfortunately the battery is dead and is stuck to 0%. I have the PSP's AC adapter plugged in. Is there a way to force the PSP to go through the firmware update even without the battery?

Hold Triangle and L trigger after starting the update.

I did that. It doesn't work.

Hm, that might only work for downgraders or Sony could have removed it all together. Have you tried to update without a battery, just keeping the PSP plugged in?

Yes. That's what I'm doing. I'm currently stuck at the "battery level is low" message. It's not letting me through.

All I can say at this point is to just get a new battery. Sorry about that.

No problem! If you have any other troubles, I can probably help.
