Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist, an episodic follow-up to the 2010 Street Fighter fan film, Street Fighter: Legacy, is in development for a 2013 release, creator Joey Ansah and actor Christian Howard announced today at San Diego Comic-Con.

The full-length series will take place in Japan, and will delve into the origins of Ryu, Ken, and their master, Gouken. The "Assassin's Fist" subtitle comes from "Ansatsuken," the Japanese name for the fighting style that Gouken taught to Ryu and Ken.

SF Legacy looks pretty good for a fan movie. I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

Just don't make a game with digitized graphics about it.

Street Fighter: Legacy was pretty legit. I'm glad the crew was able to work this out. Congrats to em.

And personally, I've always been interested in the "shoto story", so to speak. I'm excited.

Only good live action anything about street fighter was that one 10 minute documentary about Balrog.

What impressed me the most about the short was the attention to detail and how it stuck as close as possible to the source material. "Street Fighter Legacy" remains the best live action Street Fighter production to date. I'm looking forward to this.

I recently re-watched SF legacy recently and was wondering what these guys were up to. Good stuff. That ken was spot on. Hopefully it will be as good as the animated movie and not like legend of chun-li.

No love for the Thousand Pounds crew? I prefer their fight choreography more than the Legacy video but other than that, The Legacy video was pretty entertating.

So glad they finally struck the contract with Capcom.

This is going to be awesome.

I think they need someone with better semblance to Ryu, though he's okay.

agreed.
The first SF movie for as bad as it was has charm to it.
It's a fun kind of bad movie.

Chun Li is just bad all around.

Huh...I didn't go into this expecting it to be good. I am pleasantly surprised.

I'm okay with this.

Here's hoping they can act as well as they choreograph the scenes when it comes to spoken dialogue for the series. Other than a lingering fear of shaky dialogue and awkward plots this looks fun and entertaining enough to be cool with IMO. I'm not expecting anything mind blowing in story so more of this should suffice.

SF legacy is pretty much the most well produced SF fan short ever made, at least visually. I am eagerly anticipating this.

Between Street Fighter x Tekken and this, Street Fighter 25th Anniversary year has been/will be extremely disappointing.

Wish they had just made one final SFIV expansion and called it a year.

I've seen that as well. But the characters in the SFxTekken short were more like cosplayers. I think the SF legacy actors were a lot more convincing as Ken and Ryu.

There are so many details and touches in that tiny short video that only hardcore fans would notice.

Joey Ansah is a true SF fan, I interviewed him a while back because I was hoping this would get the green light.

Agreed, Beginnings End is more entertaining. The music, choreography, effects, all hype. Needed some better voice work and a higher wig budget.

Legacy got the look and costumes pretty good though.
