For me it's not so much what they need to do to "Wow" me as it is what they need to do to make the device better.
Bigger battery, more storage, and a 4" screen would do it. My contract is almost up on my iPhone 4 and whether I upgrade when the new iPhone comes out or hold off for the 2013 iPhone depends on what they bring to the table. Before anyone asks "Y U NO GO ANDROID?!?" I'm too deep into the iOS ecosystem. |

Name it the iPhone 5. That will be shocking, it's as dumb as every rmuor site and fan who thunks the 6th generation phone will be called the iPhone5.
In anycase. -Dynamic App icons -New functions if there is larger screen real estate. -Open notification center widgets to third parties. -Air drop to iOS devices -NFC -Improved camera sensor not higher MP -Better battery life -LTE -Mag safe or USB3/Thunderbolt capable dock connector -Dedicated app store for games / more advanced folder and organization for games -Documents app that can be backed up and accessable from any app like we have for photos Its most likely I will be waiting until the 7th generation phone. I have the 4s (5th gen iphone) already so I can wait. FYI 100 bucks says its called The New iPhone, and we will have to use generations and release years in the future to identify the phone. Ultimatly calling it the 6th gen iPhone.

Beyond amazing battery life.
An OS that is sleek but also doesn't treat you like a moron if you're a power user. Expandable memory/removable backing. (Sorry, Apple Care) I love the ecosystem and the non-fragmentation, but I'm just not a fan of the actual user experience of the iDevices. |

Honestly, it's just not possible for Apple to impress me with the new iPhone.
My most used smartphone function (other than the basic phone functions that any phone can do) is mapping. Helping me find some place I'm looking for, help me get there, decide what to do, what to eat, etc. I've checked out the mapping functionality in iOS 6. It's just not anywhere as good as Google's suite of mapping/location/navigation functions. There aren't going to be any big surprises in this department for the next iPhone - it will take lots of time for Apple to catch up, if they ever do. |

I want a bigger screen for web browsing. Just a taller screen would be fine, because I would be able to see more of GAF at one time.
A mag safe charging port would also be pretty cool. Definitely a new design. The highly rumored two tone back looks spectacular. Finally, it must work with tmobile's 4G or at least 3G. Oh ya and I wish it would be cheaper unlocked but that's probably not gonna happen. |

Really doubt Google will follow through with making a maps app for iOS that's as good as the Android version. Even then they'd probably lose interest in maintaining feature parity, especially with all the Google Now stuff they won't be able to bring to iOS.
Apple was right that this is something they need their own solution for, so they can control it. Their solution just isn't ready to go head to head with Google yet. |

IMHO this will always be an inferior experience on ios vs Android as long as Apple doesn't allow you to change default apps.
(For example tap address on Android to open Google Maps vs. highlight address, copy, home, find Google Maps, launch, paste) |

For every quality customised Android interface, there's 10 reminiscent of MySpace monstrosities. |

- Have chpwn's Zephyr gestures as standard (more IOS feature than anything);
- Lean towards MS's approach to NFC/wallets (on the SIM versus on the phone) - A home/power button that doesn't break after regular use - DON'T follow the trend of having a ginormous phone |

This has always puzzled me. Why do you care about what is on someone else's phone? Shouldn't you only care that your phone has a clean homescreen (which of course is possible no matter which phone you have)?

I'd wager a huge percentage of the more tech geek type Android users were former iPhone users, including myself. So yes, we've bought an iPhone.

As someone who currently owns no apple product (except a broken ipod my wife had) this is what would wow me.
4.3 inch high res screen - i think that is the sweet spot Dual core or Quad Core next gen cpu Next Gen gpu Completely new redesign Slightly customizable OS 4G/LTE Thinner |

Rumours point to that being true, possibly. Of course, I can't be the only one who thinks that Apple makes iTunes shit on Windows on purpose. Runs pretty nicely on OS X; had it done so on Windows I wouldn't have been as eager to jump. The platform annoyances add up...

BTW, do you guys think that the new iPhone will release earlier than October? I say this because of the increasing competition from Samsung. I mean I know so many people who are already dead set on getting the S3 or are debating, but there are no definitive details on the next iphone.
