It's funny how easily brain is fooled with fake motion like that. Nothing even approaching OP's scary experience, but I know a couple of times I was freaked out when parking, and just as I was coming to a complete stop, the car next to me would start slowly backing up... what a mind screw up that is, you're pressing the brake like crazy and feel like your car is still moving ahead, just about to hit the car in front of you... then a moment later you feel like a complete idiot.

![]() During the 3rd week of freshman year in college a few years ago, I was skating at night with my friend. He wasnt very good and we were on the sidewalk of a busy street. He rolled over a little crack in the sidewalk and fell out into the street. A car was 3 inches from running over his head. I almost saw my friend die in front of me. We freaked out about how he should have died. Whenever I see him now, I tell him how he's on his "extra life." lol

The thread title and actual OP are a little bit off from reality, but I know how off-putting that feeling can be. Glad it wasn't anything notable.
Bahaha, amazing as always Sunhi. I can't wait to relive the Olympics thanks to you. :D |

Thread over. Lmao.
My near death experiences-1)car flipped over in a ditch when I was a newborn. 2) car was t-boned going 45 mph in the passenger side while I was sitting in the backseat passenger side(I was like 5). 3)lost control of my car in Washington State going from an on ramp onto I-5. |

I'm laughing out loud at the OP. This is great. Just the thought of you screaming bloody murder in an elevator that's standing still while the night auditor hears your death rattle and thinks wtf is the best. The night auditor sounds like a hilarious guy, too.
What a great story. Thanks. |

I was fucking around and got my arm stuck in a Holiday Inn elevator when I was a kid. It kept trying to go up. Had to wiggle my arm around to stop it. Finally pulled it out. Scarey ass shit and I will not hold an elevator for anyone because of it. My little sisters screams were awful.
P.S. Sack up OP. |

Your response to what you thought was your impending doom is...mostly understandable assuming you've never had this experience. Very dramatic to be sure. Even the last couple sentences of your post. |

There's a decent chance that 70% of those who replied in here might've reacted the exact same if they were put in that actual situation. But it doesn't make this entire thread any less funny. :p
