GSN's American Bible Challenge - Don't Know The Good Book? You Don't Have a Prayer
#1
![]() Starring Jeff Foxworthy! ![]() Attractive contestants! ![]() Tebow! (Okay no Tebow but still.) The most popular book ever written really does have everything: sex, murder, love, war, prophecies, songs, treachery - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. What puzzles me, however, is that there hasn't been a game show that draws from the vast amount of information within the text itself. Well, the good people over at GSN have decided enough is enough and have created the American Bible Challenge, a game played by three teams of three who compete for charities of their choice. Everybody wins.

I'm guessing the questions will be carefully picked as to not offend any Christian denominations, and will be as simple as "who killed Abel" instead of anything deep.
Then again, Jeff Foxworthy also hosted "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader" and that one was brutal. |

I think this would be a good idea. There are tons of board games already. I expect it to be a bit deeper (What was Cain & Abel's brother's name) but still easy for someone who has read it and not just motivated by a sermon referencing stuff.

The point of this damn this is to show to most Christians how they know jack shit about the Bible and their religion. Besides, the Bible is a pretty big book, so it should have a lot of good material for a quiz show like this. |

It's likely to happen.
All the idiotic stuff that some of them nitpick over is sure to cover some of actual discussion found in the Bible. EDIT: Case in point- http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...2&postcount=13

Poor judges are going to have to constantly award points after the fact like Jeopardy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RB3g6mXLEKk.

Single? Also.... The main issue I have with American Christianity is that ignorance seems to be rewarded over knowledge. Education is looked down upon with disdain. Science is the work of witchcraft. Random occurrences are looked upon as miracles or gifts from "God". Fear is the go-to tool in order to keep the sheep in line as they spend countless dollars on the most successful brand the world has ever seen, Jesus H. Christ. This populace has single handedly held an entire nation back from learning more about ourselves and has hampered our progress as a Homo sapient race as a whole. We should be further along than we are... Religion, because thinking is just too damn hard.

A few years ago, VH1 did The World Series of Pop Culture. It was like a huge three-on-three tournament about, you guessed it, pop culture. It was actually pretty cool. I wish they'd do it again.

One huge thing I forgot to mention is the political hatred American Christianity seems to instill in all of its followers...
The American Christian: This story is being featured on AC360 as I Type This Now This is why religion is... ...laughable. |
