I never really liked the over-sized sprites for this. It makes some of the platforming and jumping over enemies like Freeze Man harder than it needs to be cause Mega Man's hitbox isn't pixel perfect.

I'm not really sure what these are supposed to be accomplishing. They're playing well known games, but don't seem to really know much about them, so it's not really a traditional lets play. And they don't even really seem to be offering much of an opinion on the games either. I guess it's just straight goofing off?

Reminds me of the Continue show, except not as funny somehow.

I agree that they should actually try to focus, because the premise sounds alright and it would suck if it went to shit immediately.

I think there's a difference between content creators (such as GiantBomb or these guys) who go on to make "LPs" vs people who make "LPs" simply because it is the easiest way to make content. In the case of the former people just want more of the content creators they've grown to love, so they don't care if they are being lazy.

This stuff is really dumb, but it is much more charming than the usual stuff.

I dunno, the Versus XIII rumor and XIII announcement threads are pretty vile right now.

Back on topic though, I'm liking Grumps because it's basically the same stupid way that me and a friend talk to each other when playing games. Of course they know that they're talking to a much bigger audience, but the same feeling is there.

There's a difference between "walkthrough" and a "let's play" it seems you may be getting them mixed up.

If you don't want to hear people talk while they play, why would you watch an LP at all? Just play the damn game yourself. The whole point is the commentary.

To me, the important thing for LPs are good personalities talking while they play, and I think you and Pat nail it. I absolutely love your videos.

Same goes for GameGrumps. Egoraptor and Jontron are great.

Totally. This is totally how my roommate and I talk when we're playing together. We've actually been thinking about doing LPs for a while, but we can never find something that we feel comfortable enough playing for an audience.

In my opinion, these aren't too shabby. But aside from a few hilarious lines, it's not as funny as Two Best Friends Play. Then again, this is a more traditional LP then what the 2BF guys do, so it might not be a fair comparison.
