Can a "Flash" movie be better than Batman, Iron Man and Spider-man? #1

I really think they could make a Flash movie that's really good in the Avengers popcorn-flick type way. It'd be hilarious if they had a Usain Bolt cameo.

Any thoughts? I'm personally more hyped for the currently non-existent Flash movie compared to Superman, Iron Man 3 or Avengers 2

It has the potential to be awesome, but doing a grounded, gritty Flash would be an awful idea, and a waste of the character. The fantastical is an integral part of the character.

A Flash movie should be campy. Look at movies like Captain America and Spider-Man 3.

Heck, an Aqua-Man movie could be amazing with the right talent.

A well made movie about Flash could turn into something brilliant and incredibly fun. But I don't think it would match Batman's level.

ps: Go to youtube and type 'big bang theory flash'.

It's certainly possible if they can get the right people behind.

I admittedly don't know much about the Flash beyond his powerset. Anyone have any stories/runs they can recommend?

My only concern would be the effects of making him run fast. I have yet to see a single live-action version of super-speed that doesn't look stupid.

But hey, if Edgar Wright can find a way to make Ant-Man's size-changing abilities look awesome, then someone can figure out how to make the Flash's running look great.

I've heard that "flash" is dying. I think regardless that Iron Man 3 would look better in HD than compressed for web 3.0 or whatever.

I just hope we still have robert downey jr as iron man, this spiderman shit was absurd.

I don't know how they could make the movie interesting without getting into stuff like the Speed Force. Either have an OP Flash that goes into the "mythology" or just a boring depowered Flash that runs super fast.

Wally is the is nephew of Iris West, Barry's significant other who becomes the first Kid Flash after having a repeat of how Barry got his powers.

Wally got his powers by recreating the accident that gave Barry his powers.

The whole Professor Zoom story would be interesting if taken seriously.

That's the hard part with non Batman DC properties.

On the Tv show as a kid they used this story and I ate it up :)

Quote:
The series' pilot episode features an accident in which Central City Police forensic scientist Barry Allen's crime lab is struck by lightning. Allen's electrified body is flung into and shatters a cabinet of chemicals, which are both electrified and forced to interact with each other and with his physiology when they come into physical contact with his body. He soon discovers, with the help of S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Tina McGee, that the accident has changed his body's metabolism and as a result he has gained the ability to move at superhuman speed. To avenge the murder of his brother, motorcycle police officer Jay, Barry demands that Tina modify a red S.T.A.R. Labs prototype deep sea diving suit, designed to withstand tremendous pressures, into his costume, to which she reluctantly complies. Thus, Barry Allen becomes the Flash.

When I think of Flash, I'm imagining a story with the Rouges. Sort of a heist movie, where the Rouges have set all these traps and what not in a building they are trying rob and Flash is trying to stop them. I don't really know how that would work in a two hour movie, but like I said, I don't know much about Flash so I don't know what sort of challenges he normally faces.

Aquaman would be awesome if Atlantis is like Asgard. Especially if they play up the angle the current comics are going for, where Arthur wants nothing to do with being king, and the kingdom itself hates him.

I also really want a Wonder Woman movie, but like Black Panther, I'm starting to let the dream die. :(

it's that kind of attitude that gets him the reputation he has.

He has a group of rogues

Captain Cold
Mirror Master
The Trickster
Captain Boomerang

and other guys, Blue Colbalt, Professor Zoom, so on.

I'm honestly not really sure how you'd handle it. Even without the speed force ridiculousness he's one of the most powerful superheroes of all time. I guess I'm just not sure how they could create a credible challenge for him on film.

i don't understand the "he's too powerful" complaints. they don't have to write him as the primed up flash. Flash wasn't super powerful from the beginning.

otherwise the batman movies would be lame. bruce would just plan the entire thing out and destroy and all enemies with prep-time. thor honestly is stronger than flash. iron man is way stronger than the comics portray, etc.

Flash is one of the few heroes that has generations. I'd love some legacy movie where we looks at each Flash. They could try and wrap it around something.

Yeah I like this but it feels more like something you'd see from an episode of some DCAU show. Like you said, I don't know how they could stretch it out for 2 hours.

Is Flash originally not depicted as "able to run across a football field before you can blink"? Because I'm really not sure how you beat or threaten a hero realistically on screen who you cannot see and you cannot catch. I guess a super-speed super villain might also work, you could have some utterly kick-ass fight scenes.

The problem with a Flash movie is that the studio would spend too much attention on its "speed time" visual effect and not enough on story or characters. It has the potential of being even worse than Green Lantern.

I think the guys at Netherrealm Studios will most likely weave together a great story for Flash with Injustice. I'm not so sure Hollywood has the track record to do such a thing though. Look at the other DC characters so far and it doesn't look so hot (aside from the holy Batman).
