Yeah, frankly, the Speed Force is pretty silly, even in the comics - try to bring mystical mumbo jumbo of that kind to the movies and audiences will check out immediately.

He's a dude that runs fast. Give Neil Patrick Harris the role and some good special effects and that's a movie.

the key to DC if they want to successfully create more movies out of their properties they should find good directors and let them create their own visions out of it. This is why I don't want them to force this whole Justice League thing into their movies. How compromised would Nolan's movies have been if they forced in "hooks" for Superman, Green Lantern and the eventual JLA movie?

I don't think that's true, but even if it was, he probably thinks and reacts so fast that he's incapable of an error like that.

His suit is made from the speed force. The speed force is suppose to be the source of all kinetic energy in the DC universe.

I assume Captain Cold would be the villain and his freeze rays would negate Flash's ability to run fast by slowing down his molecules or some shit.

How would any of these heroes touch The Flash? He can deliver thousands of punches faster than the speed of light in under a second.

He's not the strongest superhero, but he easily beats the vast majority of popular heroes 1v1.

I can safely say I love the show, but Flash and Substance is one of my favorite episodes of it. That entire scene from the intensity of Bats and Orion to the "Got me again Flash!"

I'd almost want Michael Rosenbaum to play him, just so that voice is there.

The Flash has been one of my favorite DC heroes for quite some time, thanks to the Justice League cartoons. Super speed is such an awesome, varied power with near limitless potential and the character of the Flash is lighthearted enough to be your typical comic relief while still retaining enough seriousness to be viable for proper dramatic arcs. I can see a Flash movie doing very well, given the right talent.

I saw Edgar Wright mentioned earlier in the thread...honestly, I think he could pull off a Flash movie rather well. After taking something like Scott Pilgrim and successfully adapting it to the big screen while retaining a lot of the graphic novels' charm, I have a lot of faith in his ability to take a character like The Flash and retain the same jovial, fun loving, wise cracking character while still creating a fucking awesome action movie.
