But imagine a game that combined Batman: Arkham style brawling, cover based 3rd person shooting, stealth, and flight sections.
I'd personally imagine it as more of an exploration-based game where you take on bounties as quests. Maybe sort of like Red Dead but with a Normandy-style ship and star chart instead of a horse. Combat would be a combination of brawling, shooting, and flight.

Over 50% of the suggestions in here already have games. Some of them are very old too.

The way this thread is going, I'm surprised no one has suggested Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Anyway, my suggestion is Chuck. Could be a fun stealth/action game with 4 player co-op.
I think it's allowed, depending on the circumstances.

I brought up Men In Black, and yeah, there's been 2-3 MIB games over the years, but most of them have been pretty underwhelming. There's something to be said for unspent potential in that regard, and the same goes for a lot of the other licenses mentioned.

This isn't a thread for licenses that have never had videogames, its for licenses that would work best as a game. The problem is finding the right developer and enough budget to do it right.

  • A Harry Potter game where you play as "Mad Eye" Moody in the 70s/80s, hunting down Death Eaters. The game's version of bullet time could be tied to Moody's magic eye.

All of these would of course include dual-wielding, even the Harry Potter one.

There was a Die Hard game. I had it on PS1, each movie was a different style of game.

The first movie was a shitty third person shooter, and the third was a driving game. I can't remember what the second one was all about.

Yes, it counts, and Dune was an amazing game, a mix of RPG, graphic adventure and strategy. Dune 2 also was, but it was less Dune and more futuristic army RTS.

There was a shoot 'em up of this in the 80's and Miyazaki didn't like that it didn't align with the pacifist movie so he never wants to have another movie of his made into a game, so that he can maintain itss integrity.

While the ship could the main hub or something, I'd imagine outside of potential space battles, you would roam the cities on the planets and whatnot. On the ship you might interact with the other crew members, have some story relevant stuff happen from time to time, but also grab a bunch of bounties that sends you off to cities, other ships, etc. where you can explore some sort of mini sandboxes. More in the vein of Yakuza than RDD though.
But hey, maybe one the day the terrible US movie really happens and we get some shitty cash-in game alongside it... ):

I think we had this exact same thread a month or so ago...

Oh well, the TV series of my suggestion gets a lot of hate (much of it undeserved, imho), but I'm still going to say Dollhouse. It would have numerous possibilities for all kinds of gameplay. They could, like, give you a mission description and then just let you pick & choose what kinds of skills you think you need on the mission, if they wanted to make it really open-ended. Or it could be a bit more controlled and maybe have some RPG/stats elements that are a little more permanent (as could kind of be appropriate given the nature of Echo and how she remembers things). There could be all kinds of missions from more straightforward action ones to corporate espionage, solving kidnappings, assassinations and even having to seduce clients (no corny sex minigames).

I think Alpha Protocol's discussion system would fit this kind of game perfectly as a lot of the situations would be the kind where violence is a big no-no or at least not advised (i.e. you corner a kidnapper and you can try to talk him out of killing the hostage he's holding at knife-point).

Another vote for Stargate. I think there has only been one game that has actually released, and even then it wasn't really a full/complete game. All other attempts have been mired in development hell.

An actual AAA Stargate game would be amazing. So many directions to choose from, and it would work with almost any genre. Hell, even a well made, lower-budget point-and-click adventure game like the BTTF ones could be good. A lot of opportunity there with such a rich universe to draw from that has been squandered thus far.

This would be amazing. Finding ways to use Earth, Fire, and Water bending to get around the city and for melee combat. Probending side missions... and then lackluster ending where you're given god mode.

I'd like to see this trilogy as a playable game:

A fighting game adaptation (8ing, Dimps or ASW would be my top picks) or maybe a more "typical" stylish action title by P* would be just what I'd want.
Came here specifically to say Guyver.

What the hell, man. How did it not even get a crappy 16-bit game or something? It even had two live action movies made and released over here in the 90s, one of which was actually pretty damn good AND HAD DAVID FREAKING HAYTER IN IT.

I have not seen this movie, maybe I should.

I just checked imdb and it seems like he's also in a new movie coming this year called The Assassins, I don't think it's a John woo style movie, but it sounds interesting.

I can Imagine "The killer" movie being a good game too, if they make it like the Hitman Series (since he's a hitman) but with John Woo style action, it could be interesting, and then the later parts of the game can be more like the movie.

-Story based on the original manga
-Cel shaded
-Open world Neo Tokyo
-Play as Kanada and Tetsuo
-Levels with Road Rash style battles with clown gang
-Tetuso blob boss fight

I mean a real Gantz game. Not the tease PS2 game. There are so many possibilities on where to take it.

-Can be based off the manga
-Can be about another team all together
-Can be an MMO
-Can be a prequel to the manga

So much potential
