Well apparently GMG doesn't want my money. I've been stuck on the Billing Address screen for almost 5 minutes, and when I click Continue, all it does is resize the screen temporarily before going back to normal. Has anyone else had this problem?

Edit: Never mind. I finally got it to go through.

Don't go crazy about chaining enemies though. I did, and the game ended up being very difficult.

Edit: I haven't played the 360 version so that might be even worse.

You're saying the PC version is different (i.e. easier)? I've been sitting on the Steam version for many years, grabbed it during some old sale years back.
Your battle rank affects how strong monsters are. It's a form of level scaling. On 360, battle rank increases much more quickly than it does on PC, especially if you link enemies, which can lead to you being high battle rank with low stats, which effectively screws you over. That's not nearly as much of an issue on PC, particularly since linking enemies has no effect on battle rank increases in that version.

See all the differences.

It's a much better game, to say the least.

You play this game for the epic battles, not the story. The characters and story are nothing to write home about. They're not offensively bad like FF13 or Star Ocean 4, however.

If you think every Final Fantasy game has a stupid story and dumb, one-dimensional characters, then The Last Remnant also has a stupid story and dumb, one-dimensional characters.

Yeah, don't get this game looking for a great story, guys. It's adequate at best. The real draw is the engaging combat system that lets you hire a troop of soldiers and generals, then develop them as you prefer with loads of cool weapons and abilities.

The sense of progression is superb. You start with a handful of basic skills and as you near the end of game you'll have a squad of elite badasses tricked out with legendary weapons and advanced techniques. I first played TLR on the 360. I can say the $40 I payed for that version was well spent, despite the performance problems. The combat is just so good.

I can get this for .74 cents!

Pity I already have it but anything under 10 (considering SE hasn't really dropped the price that much) is a good deal for this game. 3.74 is the cheapest I've ever seen it. Totally grab it if you don't have it yet.

Now I only have to pay 1.50 EUR (thanks to the voucher and the store credit) for The Last Remnant.

Yes, absolutely. Along with the better graphics/performance, the PC version has some crucial balance tweaks that make the game simply more fun to play.

I hear there was some sort of leader limit in the 360 version? That's just crazy.

I think the biggest thing that kept me away from The Last Remnant was how similar it looked to Undiscovered Discovery or whatever that game was called. I had a hard time deciding between the two, telling the two apart and at the same time kept hearing awful things about them both...or maybe just one but maybe got confused about which one was good and which one was bad.

I also saw my wife playing the demo of one of these games on PC and I wasn't really impressed. I think that's what nailed it for me. But I'm hearing people say "game of this gen". That has me kind of interested.

Got my key. I really enjoyed this on 360. Finished it once and started a second playthrough, but not being able to pick unique characters for all positions annoyed me on my second run. That's why I decided to double dip.

I bought it ages ago for $10 and played it for maybe an hour. I remember really liking the character design and general look to the game in general, but hating the controls on PC; now that I know how to get my Sixaxis working on my desktop, I'll give it another try the next time I'm feeling JRPGish.

The games are sooooo different from each other. Infinite Undiscovery is a tri-Ace action RPG. Last Remnant is a game where you command entire armies in a turn-based setting.

Long, at least 80 plus hours. 100 if you want to clear most of the side quest.

Ok then I must have seen my wife playing Infinate Undiscovery on the PC? It was an action RPG so I think that's the one. Ok I need to check out TLR then especially if you vouch for it. How did you feel about IU?

...What the hell was she playing then? I guess it was TLR. It was a dungeon. Really open and kinda bare. It was a while ago. Anyway, I think it's like $5 or $10 at Gamestop. I'll probably stop by and pick it up. Good RPGs are rare on consoles nowadays so I'd hate to miss out on one due to ignorance, or any reason really.

The game actually isn't that long if you don't do the sidequests. Most of the game's length is in those.
But you should do them, because they're so beneficial.
