Lolo Jones on Twitter: Americans will do well in "da gun competition."

Yet another reason why most celebrities and athletes need to just stay OFF twitter:

Oh look a random, sarcastic poster who didn't need to click on the thread but decided to anyways to make a stupid ass post in order to get attention.

If you're talking about that stupid shit Bacon said I'm certain CaptYamato wasn't referring to that with his comment. |

I don't see the controversy. Maybe she should have said "marksmanship competition" over "gun shooting" though.
Facebook level comment right here.

I honestly find it hard to even be offended by what she said given how in grained gun culture is in American culture.

Are we really getting touchy over this? No harm intended but the frequent use of "da" corresponds a lot with how some African Americans talk in "the hood" and the white people in particular trying to emulate that accent to sound cool.
Sorry, didn't want to offend anyone or try to make a racist comment. |

Ok I'm just going to leave this thread and let the mods decide what to do but these reactions were not what I was aiming for. I'm just a Western European kid who does not understand this whole situation and that's why I normally stay away from these kind of topics.

Her phony "apology" where she tried to cover by saying "Oh I was just talking about how it's fun to go hunting down south" pretty much invalidates this scenario.

Lol at people crying over Bacon's comment but hardly a soul gives a shit when some American is ignorant over 7/7. Typical.
But silly thing to say on twitter. |

you don't think that just maybe she legitimately took up a liking for hunting in the south? Especially given the proclivity that southerners/midwesterners have for hunting and the like? Seriously? I didn't see the tweet in question but what you're describing is phony because of what exactly?

It might be bad timing, but that's about it. I think you have to go out of your way to tie her tweet to the Aurora shooting. It's not that big of a leap from archery to shooting, and their relationship with American's love of hunting either.

smh, screw walking all over this eggshell nonsense. To tie this to the Aurora shooting, you'd have to be reaching farther than Dhalsim.
