Having different strokes be separate events is dumb. It should just be swim as fast as you can, however you want. If they have all these extra swimming events, why don't they do the same for track races? Have a 100m crab walk, a 100m backwards run, a 100m hop on one foot, etc.

There's no swimming equivalent to hurdles. Hurdles are an actual obstacle. It'd be like having a swimming event where you had to swim down and up to get past barriers in the pool. All swimming events are identical, except for strokes; the relay is just the same event x4.

I said that the Chinese vicotry was due to their hiring of foreign coaches, but China has a history of doping.

But the two instances I brought up, doping in swimming and false birth certificates for gymnasts, they are guilty on both counts historically.

Yea, and my point was that every country cheats. There's no proof with this swimmer, right? Why didn't Costas talk about how China hired a bunch of foreign coaches?

I know the types of rubes that NBC's telecast is geared towards (it's most obvious during the gymnastics), but I still think it was pretty messed up to go right into the doping talk.
