Started a new 360 game today, The Darkness 2.

I enjoyed the first one and I'm getting good impressions from the first 10 minutes that I managed to play this morning before I left for work.

Got one achievement so far, killing I think it's 25 guys in the restaurant, took me two tries as I missed a couple the first time when the camera control got taken away at a few points.

The Darkness II is a fun 6 hour romp. Very easy to get all trophies/achievements too.

This would be one of the most fun 1500s if there was proper coffee thermos tracking.

Anyhow, very impressive. It's always a little hard and tense trying to beat a level in one sitting with no deaths and no save points (and for the 1500 you have to do this 3 times I think: Episode 5, DLC1, and DLC2).

I really want to go back and play games and get the platinum trophies/1000G.

I've been having to just run through games on easy, and try and grab as many trophies that dont interfere with the course of the game.

The collectible achievements are a pain in the ass, but the Rooser Teeth guide is pretty good because they collect everything in chronological order.

If you played through the game on Nightmare difficulty it's pretty easy not dieing in Normal mode, in Episode 5 I got it on the first try but there it's just one chapter of an episode the other two are whole episodes. I managed to get the one from DLC 1 at my third attempt and the one from DLC 2 on my second try.

Yeah never quite worked that out either. I set the speed to 10 and just lucked out i think.
Got a gold, i think the time limit for that one is fairly generous. They seem to open once you have lit up a whole circle try to fly a way a bit then come back towards them, might be shy.

Slightly separate topic:
To me, more important than the platinums I've got this month is that I got over the 50% completion hump.
I have games with 0% or 1% that I didn't like and got rid of, but others that I started and then had other shit to do.
I've worked a good bit of backlog this month, going back to games such as Ico, from 0% to plat, still have a few more titles to work on that are at 0%. Feels good to make progress on that front.

Was kind of annoying that the severs for cloud sync and the like were down for the last 3 days, but I finally got my Vita plat this morning. Still gonna keep playing Persona 4 Arena for a bit, but I should start looking at my backlog to see what my next game to tackle is...

Be patient and understand that a good number of the levels depend entirely on the luck of placement of the coins. Start a level and if the first coin is placed too far away, just kill yourself and reset it to a quicker starting position. Also, it doesn't hurt to spend a couple runs massaging your movement around the levels, since there's a set number of coin placements and generally a quick way to gather each of them. So, learn how to get in-and-out of each spot and you'll be flying through most of the levels and then just relying on lucky coin placement.

25th 100% Game: Resident Evil 4

Boy was this one frustrating. Never remembered how bad Pro was when I played this before. But I had to get that 150G achievement for beating it. Took me a while and man was it worth it. One of my favorite games of all time on the 360 and I got a 100% on it. Haven't tried the mercanries cause there was no achievements tied to it, but maybe one day I'll go back to it. I guess technically you can consider this my 2nd 100% arcade game lol.

I also have a couple pics to show off from my journey.

This was when everything was nice and organized and I was living good. This was after I fought Salazar and headed to the island. This was me at the final battle :( My final stats in it. Not the fastest time, but I did shave off 4 hours from my normal playthrough. Also was afk for at least an hour while the game clock was going. 100% RE4? Like a mob boss.

Platinum #95 - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Well that's done, thank god. I would've finished it a few days earlier but I've been relatively busy with other stuff so I just didn't have the time. Hopefully I'll never have to play Act 3 or 5 again (the former for the stupid following part, the latter for the stupid mashing and fighting parts).

Not sure what I'll work on now. Probably Jak II. I would reserve some time for Dyad, Sound Shapes and/or Papo & Yo but who knows when the hell SCEE will release them. I've also ordered Sleeping Dogs but since I was in no rush, I went with the cheap Zavvi price, so that'll obviously be a week or two.

Been a week now since my 60gb got the yellow light and still cannot use a credit card to buy or add funds on my other PS3 (80gb). Had to break down and do the only step customer service advises (phoned and emailed them) with error 80023102: "Buy a prepaid PSN card". I got a $20 card and bought Sound Shapes. Playing it on Vita first.

I'm also playing Homefront on 360 but only gonna do the SP stuff unless I get into a session on trueachievements for some of the quicker online ones.

I ask because you could knock Black Ops out of your backlog in a day depending on how much you like the zombies mode. I fucking hate zombies mode so I just beat the game on veteran, mopped up story cheevos on easy then stopped at 950 gamerscore and sold the game.

It had a fun single player but I hate zombies in Black Ops with a passion!!
