This is straight insanity talking.

Prometheus was enjoyable for me so I'm excited for the next. It wasn't the greatest movie, but the hyperbole in here is pretty amazing.

Isn't it still too early to tell whether or not Lindelof will be involved in the next movie?

I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of a sequel. The way Prometheus went about asking the really big questions was done in only the most hamhanded way possible, so I'm not sure if they should even bother trying to answer those questions.

It seems like it might be a better approach to make the sequel about a berserking. post-human angel of death wreaking havoc on the Engineers' home world and make it a straight action/horror.

The alleged '4th' phase of the Alien cycle would be interesting:

I can't get myself to be excited about this news until I know who the writer is, and whether Scott is interested in telling a story rather than "asking questions".

And also, creating a series of events that build on one another, with developments that are not discarded, and characters who behave semi-logically.

Prometheus was pretty bad but I'm still open for a sequel. If only because I want another pretty big budget sci-fi movie.

Figures, thank god Lindehof fucked off though

Prometheus had to be the biggest anti-hype movie of the last few years, jeez it blew my mind towards the end

Honestly not sure what to think though, I don't really have any faith in a sequel either as the whole project failed and seemingly no-one had any clue of the type of movie they should have made.

Im definitely looking forward to it, it really felt Prometheus was built as 'part 1' of a multi-part story. I really feel Ridley has a good story to tell, and I enjoyed Prometheus so I am on board. Tighten up the script this time and I think the movie will perform well.. hell, if the story is tighter it may retroactively improve the general consensus of Prometheus.

Hmmm.. 2014 has the potential of Prometheus 2 and JP4. Please let it happen.

I didn't care for the idea of a sequel even before the film came out (which I still haven't seen, by the way, so I am not basing my opinion on the perceived quality of the movie). There are future projects that have far more urgent need of Scott's talents, such as The Forever War and Brave New World, and he only has so many more films left in him.

Was so hyped for Prometheus but due to the tiny amount of 2D screens Fox put out for it, I never did get to see it. Not wanting 3D is purely because I have shitty eyesight, but jesus Fox, at least give us the option.

Meh, at this point I have no interest in a sequel. I was so hyped up for Prometheus but it really let me down. Lindelhof is a terrible writer, but Scott has to bare some of the blame as well. Replace him and hire a decent writer and director and I'm on board. Scott is so hit or miss.

Well this is no surprise. It seems like the first movie really gave us all the 'heavy' stuff all at once, I wonder if they'll try to cram as much half-assed profundity into the sequel.

Alien planet was an advanced prototype of what become the geo-engineered Earth? Xenomorph as Prime Mover, instigator of the Big Bang?

Psh, that movie's apparently good fun. Prometheus 2 doesn't have a chance at that as long as Ridley Scott is calling the shots. No writer is going to make that decent.
