Sleeping Dogs PC Requirements. #1

from their Japanese website:

Microsft Windows Vista ® / Windows 7: OS
CPU: 2.4GHz or Intel ® Core2Duo 2.0GHz AthlonX2
more than 2GB: Main Memory
DirectX ® 10/11: graphics board or more ATI Radeon 3870 or AMD ATI card NVIDIA ® GeForce8800GT or NVIDIA ® more than 320MB: graphics memory
10GB: HDD capacity disk drive

^I'm guessing minimal requirments, the Google translation isn't that great.

Decent requirements from what I can tell. Most people who are into games should be more than able to run it.

Edit: So it was minimum and not minimal!

Not unexpected at this point, but it's interesting how it seems SE releases are the ones most likely to require Vista or above. Although by "most likely" I'm mainly thinking "First Just Cause 2, now Sleeping Dogs."

Barely pass the CPU requirement, hopefully my 4890 will compensate.

Aye, they look like minimum requirements to me. I expect the recommended specs to be Core isomethings and 1Gb graphics cards and so on and so forth.

Probably DX10 only.

Clearly minimal requirements, but i'm sure my 1GB 4870 will live on. Good thing I have pretty good CPU.

Could be hard. Hopefully the demo isn't only for preorderers. I might go for the 360 version.

Anything with a 8800 listed is definitely a minimum spec list. This doesn't really do anything to help me get a good idea how it will run :(

I loved my 8800GT. What a wonderful card.

It actively points out a DirectX 10/11 card as being required, so yeah.

Same, that card lasted me for years, and evidently as long as I didn't want to play on maximum settings I could still use it quite happily today.

Got a GTX 460 when I got a new PC, which seems like it's from the same class of card - not top of the range, but more than good enough for all but the most demanding games.

JC2 was also Dx10 or above only, and that looks beyond amazing and is super smooth on my PC, so i'm all for this.

Maybe the next console generation will change it some, but the NEED for stronger graphic cards is less than it's ever been, or at least has been since the 3D card became a staple. Only now is the 8800GT/9800GT insufficient for some games, and by insufficient I mean looking half decent, not being out and out unplayable, as I'm sure even the Witcher 2 could be played with all settings set very low so long as you had a strong enough CPU! If you had a similar card from the 90s, let's say the Voodoo 2, it wouldn't have lasted a quarter as long.

Woot. Hopefully this runs as good as JC2.

Rocking a 5970 and i7 2600k here and hopefully I can get decent performance at high settings.
