And with all the gameplay options and hidden stuff, MGS is pretty much as replayable as a stealth-action game can be. |

Yeah, I felt the need to replay the game pretty much as soon as I finished it (to fill in the gaps in the story I didn't understand first time around), but stopped as soon as I found the game was installing again. The full install makes it much more accessible for replays.

Remember MGS2? Snake's fighting Liquid Ocelot, not Revolver Ocelot. So devoted he is to his mission to shut down the Patriots, Ocelot's completely taken on the persona of the one man who dogmatically drove himself to be superior to Big Boss and Solid Snake. Someone like that versus Old Snake who only started to practice CQC again in recent time because PMC troopers were starting to imitate, it's no contest. At least, I think so. Geez, I thought I washed my hands of this game a while ago. >_> Back in the day I beat this game at least 13 times in both English and Japanese. My English play file was missing 6 of those inane "X Alerts X Kills X Continues" emblems before I came to my senses. |

/bigbossalute I was a hardcore trophy-farmer for 2 consecutive years before I completely quit wasting my time with such silly things :lol I definitely know what people are willing to do for platinums. |

But that was during the first playthrough. During the fourth.... yeah. Glad it's different now. |

They really hampered the game later on, though. I always have multiple MGS saves before all my favorite moments so I can relive them whenever I want. MGS4 made that an ordeal. |

Its actually pretty cool that the Ps3 didn't have a trophy system right away.
I dusted off MGS4 after 3 or so years just because of this patch, and plan on beating the game yet again. There would be little reason to do so if this game featured all that shit right away. Still mind boggling that this game never received a Subsistence version. But here we go again... party like its 2008! |

I'm no MGS guy (play part of 2), but I enjoyed 4 enough to finish it. Confusing? Yes, but really wild and love the boss fights. I kept my disc all these years just in case something like this patch happened. Hope to load it back up soon. Why work the back log when you can replay games?!

Is there a site that provides the patch so I can download it via my laptop? The PS3 update download is taking foreeeeeever.

Shit, I think I killed all the PMC dudes since they didn't have anything and held them all up to where they didn't have any more items. Am I fucked in that militia versus PMC area in Act 1, The One Who Knocks?
I still need to get a few more hold-ups and frisking their balls out of the way. :( |

They probably made Snake's animations less detailed than NPCs for the sake of more fluid control. I wish they patched in the crouch-walking animation from Peace Walker, it was a nice improvement over MGS4's animation.
Also, when using nightvision, goddamn it makes me really wish the game was 60 FPS. So smooth. Another thing, I like how there are a bunch of obscure things you can do which I never realised until now, like pressing triangle when an enemy knocks you over to do a flip and get up instantly, or holding down R1 after the second part of the ppk combo to knee someone in the face. |

BTW, remember that MGS4 had a PROPER MANUAL. ~60 pages, in color, with comics, artworks and everything. A rare thing this gen. Or not. This may be me, because I haven't bought that many games in the last two years |
