There is a press conference from Sony on August the 14th in Cologne. It could be related to this announcement. This year Microsoft and Nintendo will not be present at gamescom, but (almost) everybody else is there.

No it doesn't match as I stated above. 4pm australian time is 8am here in germany. There is no presser at this time.
