What's your personal mantra or quote to live by?
#1
Hey guys and gals, I just finished a video project and it brought up a lot of of discussion amongst my friends and I. I always see people on Facebook posting pictures of quotes that don't necessarily fit with what they're going through or are in the same context as the person who said the quote. There are a few quotes I like but I feel that if I were to live by another person's words that might almost be like plagiarism?
So last night I was having this conversation with a group of friends and it was interesting to hear everyone's own opinion and beliefs that help them get through the good times and the bad. I found it pretty interesting considering the people I was having the conversation with from people with Christian beliefs, Muslim, atheist and everything in between. With that said, what words or ideas keep you going when the going gets tough? Here is the video that just wrapped up and I thought you guys might like to see it and hear what I have to say? http://youtu.be/L8CnMjujJCY |

![]() EDIT: Serious answer? "Love can fix anything". A little corny but I share so much love and caring with everyone I meet as well as being a total sarcastic douche and it's always worked for me. Always have a good day as long as there's something someone does to make me smile.

I'm largely against simplistic mantras or mottos which can summarize life in to nice, tidy packages. Human existance is, in my experience, chaotic and inherently resistant to simplicity. However, if I had to pick one quotation which comes closest to being a central understanding, it would be this:
Oh God, whose law it is that he who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful Grace of God. --Aeschylus |

It is perfectly permissible to shout "OH DAVID BOWIE YES" during intercourse with Oneself.
