Oh, my mistake. The only thing I had heard about it was the article on the previous page. Thanks for clearing that up.

Watch who you're calling a moron when spouting off ignorance. Crytek's implementation of tessellation is fine. Don't flatter yourself, you don't understand anything. Wireframe mode in Crysis 2 has no visibility culling. |

So wait... is this free to play?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWvgE...tailpage#t=59s seems to indicate so... (unless, they're marketing that for Cryengine 3 itself.)

No, it doesn't make sense, but given how tessellation works, it isn't a problem for any decent card... Nvidia ones, anyways. Seems like AMD cards doesn't handle tessellation too well at the moment. |

Also I understand how tessellation works and that's a poor use of the tech. IMO it shouldn't be if you can do it but how efficiently you do it. |

Had they showed me some of their next gen physics, maybe some kind of real time terrain destruction then yea I would have been impressed. Graphics just do not do it for me anymore. |

I have to hand it to Crytek for putting this in a playable game that still scales down to current gen consoles, while Epic is releasing Fortnite that so far really push UE4 at all
Even though none of these features will make it on a console, it's still nice to see that the engine will |

If Crysis 3 is a good game, then I'm sure we'll all love it. If it's a crap game, nice graphics aren't going to save it from criticism. That said, this trailer makes it appear that they are headed in the right direction. |

It's hard to tell, these are all specific features that Cryengine3 did not had before. But by the looks of it, they upgraded a lot of other things, like water reflections, geometry of the level looks way more complex, and textures also look much better.

You also shoot aliens, so it's an alien-and-menshooter.

I would love to have these visuals in something that is not an FPS. Oh well, maybe in the future. |

Well I don't think it's really fair to use Morrowind as the example because it looked pretty shit even when it came out...
Anyway, this looks stunning but I really have trouble believing that that is representative of next gen. I mean really even this gen not many games look like Crysis on Ultra at 60fps, and that was from 2007. It's going to be a long, long time until we are typically seeing games that look like this running at 60fps. |

Anyway, that footage figuratively blew my mind and left me literally open mouthed when I saw the tessellated foliage, its interactive nature in the game world and FROG. I mean too fucking good. Too good of level of detail. |
