Also I'm pumped for the interactive spray painting they inexplicably took out the JSRF sequel.. It wasn't inexplicable at all. They wanted to (and did) make a faster paced game. JSRF had different design intentions to JSR. 'Interactive' (QTE) spraypaint would not be a good fit for JSRF. Both games complement each other nicely.

I know they had their reasons but gameplay wise it felt a little dumbed down. It felt more intense when trying to spray a complicated tag when police were chasing you.

Or better yet they could have kept both spray methods and changed it depending on the mission goal.

The police never really chased you in JSRF, though. And I think trying to somehow force the spraying method into JSRF with some sort of mission goal would make the game feel very disjointed.

You collect spray cans throughout the level and then spray tags at predetermined spots. Completing graffiti gives you points. As you complete graffiti, the intensity of police aggression towards you increases and they begin chasing you. You can also do various tracks (pretty simple system, very "automatic" compared to something like Tony Hawk) that give you points. The goal is to complete all the graffiti under a time limit as fast as possible while scoring as much as possible.

Yeah that was another thing I hated they got rid of was the police chasing you while tagging, instead of fighting the police in isolated sections. Not trying to sound negative of JSRF, I loved it, so I'll stop derailing the thread.

On the other hand I wonder how well Jet Set Radio will hold up after all these years, it's currently in my top 10 games of all time.

Honestly if I had to pick one song that I really didn't want to lose from the soundtrack it'd be that one. When I think of JGR I always remember this one moment when I was playing it - it was the mission where you had to tag 3 Noise Tanks when chasing them around their home level. Yappie Feet was playing at the time (dunno if it always does), and I fell far behind them at some point. When I caught up all three of them were waiting for me, standing there dancing in time with the music. It was such a perfect moment that it's forever burned in my mind.

Maybe I can put it back in on the PC version, heh.
